Had one of the most serendipitous moments of my life earlier. Went to Guitar Center to see if I could work a trade for a gen1 Tremonti in black that had had the pickups replaced along with other things. They, as expected, went crazy low on my trade, but then mentioned they'd just taken in a Tremonti Tribal while I was in the store. Left for a bit, talked to the wife, worked out how to pull it off, and acquired my Holy Grail guitar. Number 34 of 100 now lives with me.

Yep. It took a little convincing, but she agreed to not murder me.

This will definitely be going with me to the guitar class he's doing before the Alter Bridge show in Houston in April.

So I put my Experience PRS Custom 24 up on Facebook Marketplace and shared to some local pages as well as some PRS pages. A dude commented that he still had the hang tag for one he owned and posted a picture. Turned out the one I have is his former guitar and he has all the case candy still. Trying to decide if it would be inappropriate for me to see if he'd ship it all to me. Especially since he kept the case keys.

Quickest guitar sale I've ever had today. Sold/Traded my silver Custom 24 in about four hours for $1500 and a Les Paul Traditional in great condition. Now to get the LP up for sale.

The LP is up on MarketPlace for anybody interested. Seems like the prices can vary a bit. I've got it up for $1900 currently. Figured I'd start more towards the high end of the range.

Just wrapped up a Scarab Deluxe clone for a friend of mine. Pretty proud of how it turned out. Extremely versatile fuzz, especially with the Bias and Fat knobs.

I wanted to make another one of these as I loved the circuit, and my son had an excellent idea...lovingly calling it the "Royal Ear Violator".

It's funny - I actually enjoy doing setups and stuff on my guitars. Fret polishing feels a little therapeutic and relaxing for me. I actually should think about doing that tonight since I'm on pain killers and it would be even more fun. lol At least cleaning and fret polishing, since I don't have any frets to fix. Or I could sneak by a pawn shop and find a beater to work on...but that's like the opposite of what my wife would want me to do on Valentine's day weekend.

I think you'll be surprised with how well that squire ends up playing after some TLC and setting it up exactly how you want it. Except the weight, of course, not too much you can do with that other than sand the crap out of the back side of the guitar, or maybe plane it down, but then you'd run the risk of making it feel weird or uneven.

I have a jaguar type build I'm doing next...decided to make it a flat green color. But I've had too much going on to start and I have to buy a paint booth for my garage now that we don't have the crafting store. I need to paint it before it starts getting too hot and humid.

When I decided to start building, I didn't know how to paint and didn't have access to a paint setup, so I just took a page from my woodworking and used Rubio Monocoat hard wax oil. It's easy to put on, has a great, natural feel and comes in dozens of colors. This body is mahogany with Rubio Emerald Green finish. I'll never paint a guitar.

Yeah - I stained the last one I did and it turned out good. The first one I did I used a paint swirl technique, but it would be more difficult to do that now that we got rid of our crafting store. I will try regular spray paint this time. It may turn out crappy, then I can sand it down and stain it. I'll probably pick up a green tint from stewmac if I do, since green is the feeling I have for the new one.
