I must be one of the few that was very aware of the tracking and data collection that social media has generated before this documentary. Personally I love the targeted advertising it has lead to lots of fun and interesting purchases over the last few years relative to random advertising in TV/print.
I enjoy using FB but generally ignore political stuff and never get in internet arguments as they are always a waste of time and energy. I like it for keeping up with physically distant friends & family and that is about it. I could care less how many likes my posts get. I generally just scroll it a few times a day when I have down time.
That being said I am very concerned about the addictive nature of it in children and teens. Cyberbulling is a tremendously challenging problem. I hope this show opens the eyes of parents, luckily my kids are grown and this was not an issue when they were younger.
