I'd like to see them develop the characters of some more of the squad this season. Last season we knly really got to know Roy and Jamie with a taste of Sam and Dani.

Anyone have any guesses as to how they bring Jamie back into the story? With him being a top notch premier league player now, I can't imagine he just chooses to go to a lower level to play because of a green army man.

If he comes back at all, I would guess it is a scandal. Maybe his mom or dad dies and he goes on a bender or three and falls from grace. He is radioactive and no team will take a chance on him...except Richmond who is trying to make a run at promotion. Lasso and Kent (who is still around as a coach or consultant) work together to build Jamie back up into a better version of himself.

Trailer shows them playing Man City again... probably in the FA Cup. So there's that.

It is interesting that they had him playing for Man City and not a London team so they can run into him more.

Agree. Personally I'd be ok with Jamie not really being a part of the next season. Ted fixed him, let him move on. He just adds conflict to Roy and Keeley.

For them to play in Wembley from the championship, it will have to be in an FA cup or some other tournament. Assuming they keep the soccer part of the show reasonably realistic.

Wife and I just binged it the last two nights and not to seem cliche, but yes, best show we have seen in a long time. Makes me want to rewatch Scrubs as well. I was rewatching Scrubs and listening to the Fake Doctors Real Friends podcast when Covid hit in March 2020, but got distracted and stopped in Season 3. I need to pick that up again. I wonder if Braff interviewed Bill Lawerence on that pod about this show? Anyways, can't wait for the next season and looking forward to following this thread with all you guys!

If you're looking for another show that has a similar feel to Ted Lasso, check out Trying on Apple TV+. Not as good as TL, but It's got a similarly upbeat tone of genuinely good people with heart and humor. Like Ted Lasso you will leave every episode happier than when you started it.

I thought about suggesting this one to my wife, but it didn't gain much traction given the hard times we had conceiving my daughter. Does it harp on that sort of stuff a lot?

From what I recall it moves kn pretty quickly from lack of conception to struggles with adoption.

Ok- so this might be a dumb question - or one with an answer that is just over my head - but what is the significance of the name "Diamond Dogs"? I can think of "Dogs" as Underdogs but I can't figure out Diamond. Or is this a literary reference that I don't know about? Just curious......

Regardless, those were some of my favorite scenes in the show

I thought there was a Neil Diamond reference before they came up with that name. Could be misremembering though.

Not so much. Trouble conceiving will be there just enough for you guys to empathize unless it's still a very fresh wound.

So good to hear we get more from the other players this season!

Rewatching for the second season, I finally found something I don't like about this show. The opening credits are only a few seconds long, but always put me in an "oh god, please et this end and get on with the show" state of mind. I wish it had something catchy, like Scrubs.
