I had been wanting to see this for a while, but finally got the opportunity yesterday. This is the first show I have ever binge watched in a single day. It was terrific!!!

1) Vinessa Shaw being one of my first celebrity crushes and young HBS realizing that he was/am in fact straight. Damn she was fine.
2) That movies use body doubles and creative camera shots to create scenes. When the fat chick dribbles thru the defence and scores, going back and forth between the upper body shot to show her face, to lower body shots of clearly a fit real soccer player and not the aforementioned fat chick. Probably the first time I was like, "Hey, thats not the same person! "

Well the idea was born in 2013/14 with the original EPL TV ads featuring Sudeikis as a fictional new coach of Tottenham.
Then in 2017 the former Scrubs guy Bill Lawrence took over the concept and wrote the series. So the script certainly was done with no concept of the pandemic.
It was greenlit in 2019 and most filming was done I think before we were too deep into this. I saw some info about filming at Selhurst Park in November 2019. I don't know their exact shooting schedule but they might have been done or mostly done by mid February 2020. Post production is usually a few motnhs at least and promos were out my mid summer.
They certainly started filming well before the shutdowns so they could not change that midtsream I'm sure.
People sitting at home and yelling WANKER at their tv screens just doesn't have the same effect.

Seems like a good place to say Borat winning best comedy is garbage.
I absolutely LOVE the humor of it. SBC is hilarious. But in no way should a reality show with 100s of hours of film with unsuspecting people being portrayed in the light the filmmakers' want, edited down for shock appeal, win this.
Palm Springs should have won. Hell, Hamilton should have won over Borat and Hamilton had no business being nominated.

I agree with this for multiple reasons. For one, I don't think the sequel was actually very funny. I loved the original, but I think you actually make a good point about it not really the same kind of movie as every other comedy that would be nominated. I don't know what category it could be nominated for though, so I imagine that's why it is just lumped in with comedies that are written/acted normally.c-jags said:

It's so good that I'm almost a little sad that I wasn't forced to wait for each episode to be released so I could get excited about it every week.
Definitely going to watch it all again before season 2.

Zach Braff got nominated for a Directors Guild Award today for his work on Ted Lasso.
Interesting. I only marginally follow braff and his work because of scrubs (occasionally listen to his podcast). But with bill Lawrence involved, it makes sense that braff is too.
He directed just the single episode when Ted's wife came to visit right? Excellent episode.
