I think expectations were low for this first season and the writers could take some risks. Not sure they can do that with the increased popularity, but hopefully they prove me wrong. At least they're not having to draw it out over more than 10 episodes a season. Really makes a difference when telling a story. More episodes would probably require more sit-com standards and that would really suck. This was a great show and I'm hoping the next story can live up to this one.

There are probably a bunch of people rewatching old TV promos and commercials trying to find the next idea for a show.

The medical advisor on that show was the real JD that show-JD was based off of. He was a college roommate of Bill Lawrence. He also told Bill he would only do it if they took the medical part seriously and got it right. Scrubs was voted the most medically accurate show on TV by the AMA.

Showrunner Bill Lawrence with David Sudekis. Built on the NBC Sports sketch from a few years ago where an American football coach is hired to run an EPL team.

It's on AppleTV+. Three episodes out as of 8/14, and it is outstanding. It needs a couple of episodes to settle in, but by the end of the third I was hooked and furious that there were no more out.
My favorite show currently. It's fantastic and Ted makes me want to be the best version of myself. 10/10.

Ted and the Asst Coach's relationship is great. Bring in the Diamond Dawwwgs!

Just watch them again. I've rolled every episode a few times already and imagine I'll keep doing it.

Wife and I just binged this show. I suggested it after reading the first page of this thread.

What a great show. I went in hoping for a few laughs, but this gripped us emotionally 1000% more than I ever expected. Shame it is only on Apple TV. Jason Sudeikis deserves an Emmy.

I don't know that I would say it never goes for the cheap joke, and it's not exactly breaking new ground on sports movie tropes.

It just does them very well, and is especially funny if you enjoy Jason Sudeikis' and Bill Lawrences style of humor.
Coach Beard is especially funny to me, so droll.
