What a weird damn year.

Oh man. This is nice. Just sent it to a buddy who will be equally happy about this. We were big Hum fans in the 90s.

My brother in law gave me 2 THC edibles this afternoon which I hadn't done that kind of thing in forever, but I thought what the hey. Anyway, my wife and I took those at about 8:45 and took our dog for a walk. Both got home waiting for these to kick in. I was about to give up and go to sleep, but I checked this board and found this thread. Grabbed my huge studio head phones and hit play. Right about that time, the gummy started kicking in. So listening to this new HUM album for the first time in the definite frame of mind to receive it. Sounds amazing on my headphones. Concert in my head. They sound as good as ever.

And what happened to your wife? Was she out back counting stars?

She was making cookies at around midnight. So that was nice.

Here's what I love about music. I have their previous 2 albums but both were in the BMG "12 CDs for a penny" days and I got them as almost after thoughts. I loved "Stars" but never really got into either album. Over the years I've gone back to them a couple times and still never really got into them.

But with this announcement last week I thought I'd dive in again and I LOVED them. It was pretty much those two albums and Inlet on an endless repeat all week for me as I worked.

Sometimes music is about timing. Sometimes it takes a couple listens, and sometimes it takes 20 years to get into something.

I would love if they did a tour for this, you know, when life gets back to normal.

I would love to see them live. Here's a video from the end of last year where they played track 3 off Inlet. Cell phone videos always have crappy sound, but you can tell that this would've sounded pretty amazing being there.

"In the Den" is already stuck in my head.

I am loving this album.

Same here since I've never seen em live. That one reminded me of Soundgarden meets Red House Painters/slowcore almost immediately but in their own way.
