Those Bulls teams were like The Beatles. There are a couple other great MJ documentaries out there - more like fanboy specials - that I still have on VHS. MJ 's Playground was great - best scene was during the Dream Team Olympics in 92 was Michael wanted to see Barcelona but couldn't because of the hype. He leaves the hotel at 5am to walk around and they capture him walking by a building with a 20 story mural of himself.

I was like "did he just say what I thought he did??"... I figured it was some mistake.

Then the F bombs started flying

Awesome start to an awesome series. If the GOAT didn't "retire" to play baseball, the Bulls would be 8-time champs.

What time is it?!

Game time, hoo!

Plus, their starting lineup intro... Chills every time.

Also, I had no idea the Mavericks had the 4th pick the year MJ was drafted. So close.

1. Hakeem - Houston
2. Bowie - Portland
3. MJ - Chicago
4. Sam Perkins - Dallas
5. Barkley - Philly

Portland and Dallas execs have probably done a lot of blow thinking about the picks they made that night.

in 88 the mavs lost game 7 to LA in the WCF with a lineup of
Blackman, Aguirre, Donaldson/Tarpley, Perkins and Harper

But Barkley in Perkins spot and they win a title that year.

The story goes that the Blazers, so desperate for a dominant big man, had offered the #2 pick in the '84 draft and Clyde Drexler to the Rockets for Ralph Sampson. So, the Rockets could've ended up with Hakeem, Drexler and Jordan in essentially a single transaction. Fun / agonizing to contemplate that one.

I had no idea he signed such a bad long term contract. I mean, I remember the unhappiness and wanting to be traded but 7 years, $18 Million ? And Jerry R. says, once you sign it, don't come talk to me or complain.

For all the bellyaching Pippen had over not being paid, he still made more than Jordan on the court over his career.

It was the strike-shortened season... and it was VERY forgettable.

Random thought I had where I read an article way back in the day where Rodman was suicidal and was on the hood of his car about to shoot himself at the height (or the downward slope) of his career. Dude has/had serious issues.

TC - have to go with MJackson. But....

I vividly remember June 2009. I am at a movie with my family - Transformers 2 - just getting the snot kicked out of me - just so bad. My brother calls 3 times. I walk out into the hall to see what's up. The conversation:
Him: I can't believe it.
Me: What's up?
Him: Can't believe he's dead.
Me: Who?
Him: You don't know? MJ.
I literally fell back into the wall and slid down to the floor. Stunned.
Me: Michael Jordan died?
Him: No - Michael Jackson
Me: Oh - thank God.

He was more famous, though...

edited because I can't type

The story is a lot funnier before I realized you meant to type 2009 instead of 2019. The idea of your brother just now realizing...
