I was gonna come on here and say lucky number slevin. I remember someone making me watch it and I was really not interested at all to see it. I was hooked from the first scene.

Looked up the synopsis to this and it checks many of my boxes. May have to give this one a look .

Won an academy award and was nominated for 4 others including best picture.
One of the best sports movies of all time.
People of a certain age know this film, but for the most part it's been forgotten which is mind-blowing.
Breaking Away is one of the best films ever made. Incredible cast from top to bottom.

Put away your Last Jedi hate and watch this, it stars a young Joseph Gordon Levitt in what I can best describe as a film noir murder mystery set in high school. The dialogue leans a bit detective/gumshoe, and the movie totally shouldn't work but it does and it's sooo good.
