They showed drones under water causing waves and water damage.

Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty huge leap, but I can't believe how great a job they did making Mysterio's character work and updating him with technology and the rules established in the MCU.

Mysterio should NOT work in a movie. But somehow they made it make sense. I LOVED the scenes where Peter was completely immersed in his illusions. That's straight out of the comics, and again should never have been something that could be pulled off in a movie, but they did it.

Agree, the hallway scene at the end was freaking awesome. It felt a bit like a video game, but in a good way, not a bad way.

The illusions in peters head was some straight up scarecrow **** and I ate it all up.

Loud cheers for jk Simmons and straight up wtfs being shouted when beck revealed everything in the post credits

I really think he liked peter but once he learned his ego mania could not let him live

Have to admit I am not a fan of the last post credits scene.

It felt cheap and I don't like the implications.

Another thing - i think they were a bit too vague about who actually blipped.

My assumption is that pretty much nobody on the trip was blipped, but some confirmation would've been nice.

I just realized that the restaurant fight scene in the trailers where Iron Spider takes out a bunch of armed mobsters and then jokes with the cops who show up..............wasn't in the movie.

From the other thread and pre-movie thoughts everyone was wondering how they were going to play off Mysterio since it's usually smoke and mirrors. People were hoping the MCU wouldn't give him real powers, but they did a fantastic job, especially with tying in Tony's B.A.R.F. (had always wondered when that was going to be used in MCU Again). Both illusion scenes were crazy, just brilliant, can't wait to see those scenes again.

So since it showed the band players being blipped back to the court exactly where they were, it brings up everyone's theory of what happened if you were flying?? WE NEED ANSWERS

Thought the same thing. That was weird and seemed a little careless.

Biggest disappointment. Realizing that Tom Holland will never work under jk Simmons. Regardless of shield gives reasonable doubt, there is no way in hell jjj would hire peter

My immediate thought was "They said he's Spider-Man, but is anyone going to believe it with actual proof? Peter can always deny, deny, deny. The only issue would be now everyone will be paying attention to him a la the way MJ did."

Every time he disappears and spider shows up. He has spoken at events as Spider-Man, which I am shocked he didn't use stark tech to modify. Same height and build.

And they are going for an Alex Jones vibe with jjj, and there are people who eat this stuff up. Mysterio to the world was a hero who stopped a lot of disasters, why would they doubt him?

Here's an easy way of solving the identity issue, get one of the skrulls disguised as Peter and the real Peter would be in his Spider-Man suit side-by-side in public.

That's probably exactly what they'll do. Nice job.

A lot of elements of the movie were similar to the Spiderman game that came out last year -

In the game, JJJ is a talk radio ranter like Alex Jones.

Spiderman tweets and participates in social media. They showed this a little at the end with him taking a selfie, and with Flash vlogging the whole trip.

I think we will see Parker maybe get involved in social media and blogging rather than working at the Bugle.

High tech gadgets and suits are a big part of the game.

Now that it appears that they are fully committing to spiderman as a Avenger even though Sony owns the rights, here are some random thoughts on Spiderman and Marvel moving forward:

I do wonder how much of the Stark empire has been left to Parker (if any more)? He's under 18, so would make sense for a percentage of the shares of the company to be held in trust for him until he reaches age of 18 or 21.

The scene with Parker modifying the suit and the fact Tony picked him to lead the next Avengers makes me think he probably left him more than just EDITH.

Future Avengers Parker and Black Panther's sister team up to be the brains like Tony and Banner? Between Wakanda tech and Stark industry tech, could put together some impressive stuff. Black Panther the new Captain America to Spiderman's Ironman roles? Then Captain Marvel as Thor? Antman as Hulk? Who am I leaving out here?

Though it sounds like one of the biggest fallouts from the reveal may be government taking control of Stark Industries?

First movie in the Infinity War saga ended with Tony Stark revealing himself as Iron Man. Last movie in the Infinity War saga ended with Peter Parker being revealed as Spider Man.

I didn't think that I could get excited for another Avengers movie without IM and Cap, but Peter slowly taking charge of the Avengers gets me hopeful.

Not likely. I don't remember the details of the deal with Sony, but they're going to get full rights back.

Agreed. I felt like avengers would almost certainly die a slow death without Tony Stark. But damn Tom Holland is really pulling off Peter Parker. I could legitimately see him leading the new Avengers in a few years.

I pretty much loved everything about this movie. I can't think of a single thing to criticize.

Maybe it's a spider monkey.

Surely Sont isn't that dumb. The Maguire films at best made a bit over 400m. The Garfield movies made ~200m.

Homecoming made almost 900m and this can probably do around the same.

They are making bank with minimal effort. Take what the MCU gives you
