Somehow, I feel like this show has continued to fly under the radar.

I can't tell you how many people I've recommended this to, only for it to fall on deaf years.

If you haven't seen Season 1 yet (Netflix), I cannot recommend it enough. (I think it rivals or may even be better than Stranger Things, for me.)

Season 2 drops tomorrow.

I've also been completely unsuccessful in converting people to watch this. I don't get it!

I feel like a lot of people don't give shows a chance nowadays if they don't catch fire online. (ie. a Stranger Things, Chernobyl, etc.)

It's because I'm a self-loathing German whose grandfather dropped a sh** load of bombs on that goose stepping POS country (and his grandparents were German immigrants). It should be a US territory (twice in less than 30 years, c'mon people). Dirty huns.

j/k. Kind of. Anywho. I need a new series so I'll give it a shot. How hard is it to keep up with visually while reading the sub titles? Just curious.

I absolutely love Narcos and I am trying to learn Spanish so I really focused in on the sub titles. But then, a boob (looks up), someone gets whacked (looks up). When the dialogue moves quickly I have trouble keeping up.

Last question. I really don't like time travel. Does it get confusing? As in, multiple time lines being changed confusing? thanks

It's not very hard.

Love this show, didn't realize it was coming back so soon.

My only issue with some of these types of shows is that I binge watch the whole thing in a day or two and then it's like forever until I see another one and I forget everything that happened. Might need to do a rewatch before picking up season 2.

Really good show though.

the confusing part of the time travel is keep track of who is who from multiple time lines. so in one timeline, a little girl is the mother of a character in another time line. and the little girl is friends with a boy who is married another character who is the uncle of a character in another time line.

you just have to pay attention to names.

Here's where I wish Texags had a poll feature. How does everyone prefer to watch, with dubs or with closed captioning with original audio? I kept going back and forth when I watched season 1. I need to re-watch or find a good recap.

Edit to add helpful image on characters.

Looking at that image
I realize I'm going to have to rewatch season 1

I watch with original audio and subtitles

I've tried to get people to watch it too without much success. I always love a good time travel story and you do need a family tree type diagram for this show.

Original audio with subtitles is the only way to go for me, I can't stand the dubs. Have done this with Dark, The Rain and Babylon Berlin. I'm always surprised how many words I do understand. I put the subtitles on for British shows too so I don't miss anything.

never dubs is my personal view.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yeah, the subtitles are not confusing, and neither are the timelines. Just keep track of names and families.

It took me about 15 minutes to decide on subtitles. The English dub was awful.

So what are the biggest unanswered questions going into this season?

*** Season 1 spoilers below ***

Is Claudia really dark / evil as Noah has claimed? What is her ultimate goal?

If kid Helge got sent to 1986, does that mean we are now in a new timeline, since we know middle aged Helge already exists in 1986?

Any other major things?

Also, do we know how Claudia even learned about the wormhole? I know she read the book about time travel, but I don't remember if we see her actually find and use the wormhole.

This is another streaming show that would REALLY benefit from a weekly release instead of a big dump all at once.

I've asked this before, but why do they do this? It makes it very hard to generate buzz and excitement for the show when people just binge watch it and don't have the chance to discuss with their friends and co-workers (and online).

I have to agree, actually. This is a show that would hugely benefit from having a week between episodes to digest and discuss online. (For me, anyway.)

I'm willing to be converted but I'm going to need a premise summary first.

unsolved disappearance from 30 years ago is brought to the surface when a boy from current times goes missing. involves time travel, serial killer, interconnected family ties and general wackiness.

Phenomenal show! I can't wait for season two!

Finished episode 1. This is so good.

They've really dialed up the Chernobyl feel, which I'm totally digging. As well as the religious undertones.

Biggest question they're playing up is who are Charlotte's grandfather, parents, and how did they die so young. I'm assuming these will be important reveals, and probably characters we already know.

A little bummed to see this season is only 8 episodes, but it's hard to complain when this show is so good.

And that family tree above has been super handy. I'm basically just keeping it a permanent tab on my phone.

I was the same way. Finished a rewatch recently and it all makes a lot more sense and a lot easier to follow on the second time through.

I remembered broad strokes, but I wikipedia'd the first 9 episodes and rewatched the finale.

Was a huge help, though I do kind of wish I had rewatched all of it.

It's just hard to keep up with so much great tv these days.

Watched 1&2 yesterday then decided I needed to go back and review season 1 and it was a good thing I did. So many little details that are so important. Just finished 3. This show really delivers. It's like Pulp Fiction on steroids with so many jumps back and forth between timelines.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Episode 4.

Just when I think this show can't get any better, it does.

Was wondering when a thread would shoe up. We put off watching this for sometime and finally binged it in just a few days.

Enjoyed it...however, I hope season 2 doesn't go too far off into the weeds.

I definitely felt like there were certain elements that didn't make sense.

Got one episode left.

Episodes 6 and 7 were so good. (Spoilers up to S2E7 below.)

Just when you think Jonas can finally break the cycle in 2019, of course he is the reason this all happened. And that reunion between Jonas and Michael/Mikkel was really heartwarming. "Ultimate fist bump?"

Also, I'm really annoyed with the constant lies of both "Adam" and Claudia. At this point, I don't know who is the light and who is the dark, which I suppose is the point. I hope this is resolved in the finale, but at this point I'm guessing that will be the major question going into Season 3.

Biggest questions remaining for me, aside from the big one I just mentioned:
1. Who is Alexander Tiedemann?
2. What is the connection to the murder in the other town from 33 years ago? (1987?)
3. Who is Charlotte's mother?

Top notch season - this might actually even be better than Season 1, which was already a high bar.
Teddy Perkins
How long do you want to ignore this user?
So we know who Charlotte's mother is. But I don't remember if it was an episode 8 reveal so I'm spoiler tagging until you finish. Charlotte's mother is her daughter, Elisabeth. And her father is Noah.

Here's an updated character chart through season 2. Don't open unless you're done with Season 2 or you don't care about spoilers.
