As blasphemous as a Road House remake seems, this actually looks fun.

I'm still holding out for Dune 1 rerelease in IMAX, but doesn't look like I'm going to get that. Missed it in IMAX the first time around and would love to see it with Dune 2 back to back.
Neat-o news: BFFs Ben Affleck & Matt Damon are back with a new movie...a crime thriller titled ANIMALS that just landed at Netflix. Affleck will direct, Damon will star. https://t.co/bgFo9J2fxQ

This happened last night, on IMAX screens across the country, for one night only, with a ten-minute preview for Part Two after. Most screenings sold out within a day or so, though. I guess I should have posted about it here, but we've been discussing it in the Part Two thread for a week or so now. Regardless, we're hoping that the strong audience response convinces Warner Bros to add more days.
Jordan Peele saving Dev Patel's directorial debut from a Netflix release and getting it over to Universal for a proper theatrical run, what a goddamn king. https://t.co/DVIw88foM6 pic.twitter.com/yf52qs02C1

If I’m DC or Marvel right now, I’d be at Dev Patel’s house like pic.twitter.com/1XVozljXme

Yep, it was a theater cam bootleg of a trailer for a horror/thriller called Longlegs. Which stars Maika Monroe as FBI Agent Lee Harker, who is "assigned to an unsolved serial killer case that takes unexpected turns, revealing evidence of the occult. Harker discovers a personal connection to the killer and must stop him before he strikes again."
It's just a really well-cut trailer, super creepy, and then at the end, even though there's no shot of him in the trailer (that I could tell), it says it stars Nicolas Cage as well, who I've since learned is, in fact, playing the serial killer.
Over the weekend Neon then released this short tease, so surely/hopefully the trailer itself isn't far behind...Every year there is another. pic.twitter.com/WbskWKPtat

Yet another official tease and still no official trailer. They're really building this thing up...We've been waiting for her. pic.twitter.com/qvOdj9RyEF

Neon has released four posters for Oz Perkins’ LONGLEGS.

At a recent test screening, one of our readers raved about it, saying “It’s very unsettling and deeply steeped in the satanic panic of the ‘70s serial killer horror.”https://t.co/Vrya26lgMS pic.twitter.com/Gb3hqkQYmn
I'm sorry, but @neonrated 's marketing for LONGLEGS is how ALL horror should be marketed. No gimmicks, nothing given away, just beautiful artistry where designers get to flare their magic through posters and teasing taglines. Such seduction, I'm so excited. pic.twitter.com/DkJGdJZliZ

Whoever's running the marketing campaign for LONGLEGS deserves a raise. https://t.co/wZBK9AXbGx

There has to be more to it.
Based on the trailer, as I understand the plot, an author (Bryce Dallas Howard) has written a popular series of books about a spy named Argyle (who looks like Henry Cavill). Except it turns out, in real life, there actually *is* a spy name Argyle (who is not Henry Cavill, played by a mystery actor in the movie), who has somehow actually lived the same spy adventures from the author's book? Or something? And now a villain is trying to kidnap the author to force her to write the next book, so he knows what's going happen next in real life?
I'm sorry, but none of that makes any damn sense, and is so ridiculously stupid that my five-year-old nephew could come up with something better.
I get mad even thinking about it.
The only thing that makes me feel sane is if there ends up being another twist that somehow makes it all makes sense.

Netflix's psy-op of sacrificing potentially hundreds of millions in profits from theatrical exhibition to condition audiences to stop seeking out movie theaters is one of the most mutually damaging initiatives any major film company has carried out this century https://t.co/qcfLyo9h5b pic.twitter.com/Fp5B2RJvqi
