Premiered in theaters tonight, and I'm assuming it'll be online officially in the next few days. I'm not a big horror guy, but THIS is the kind of horror that gets my attention. Like if True Detective went even more creepy/occult. I'm guessing Cage (who we don't even see) is the serial killer?Holyyyy shit this is a terrific teaser trailer. Wow. Is there any advance buzz/impressions of Argylle? The first time I saw the trailer it looked fun, but i feel like I'm seeing it advertised everywhere, and it's starting to get irritating. They must really think they have a winner, or something.
Kinda like they mashed that Sanda Bullock writer movie and Stranger Than Fiction together and got this.TCTTS said:
Exactly. It's weird to really like everyone involved, but cringe every time the trailer comes on. The effects just look so bad, and the premise - at least what's given away in the trailer - makes no sense at all.

Bong Joon-Ho's film starring Robert Pattinson, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo is now TBD.
Was set for March 29, 2024. Sounds like an awards play--will likely reset to fall.

There has to be more to it.
Based on the trailer, as I understand the plot, an author (Bryce Dallas Howard) has written a popular series of books about a spy named Argyle (who looks like Henry Cavill). Except it turns out, in real life, there actually *is* a spy name Argyle (who is not Henry Cavill, played by a mystery actor in the movie), who has somehow actually lived the same spy adventures from the author's book? Or something? And now a villain is trying to kidnap the author to force her to write the next book, so he knows what's going happen next in real life?
I'm sorry, but none of that makes any damn sense, and is so ridiculously stupid that my five-year-old nephew could come up with something better.
I get mad even thinking about it.
The only thing that makes me feel sane is if there ends up being another twist that somehow makes it all makes sense.
