It straight up looks like a long lost classic from the '80s. And the main actor student guy, who I've never seen, somehow feels like a famous, perfectly cast '80s actor I never knew, who went on to have a pretty decent career and is like 60 now. The whole thing is just spot on, and looks so heart-warming to boot.

Yep, and I love, LOVE that they went with the old school feel for everything about it - the setting, the way the film looks, to even the trailer. I don't think it would come off the same being set in contemporary times or shot in a contemporary way.

i think that's a pretty cool premise for a movie, but the trailer didn't do much for me. maybe he'll surprise me, but joe manganiello seems badly miscast too. frank grillo must have been busy.
