Also, with CinemaCon this week, and GoTG3 premiering next week, the blockbuster trailer deluge is about to begin.

One of my favorite movie times of the year.

Over the next ten days, between tomorrow and next Thursday, though not all are guaranteed, we could see trailers for...

- Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (Teaser Trailer)
- Dune: Part Two (Teaser Trailer)
- The Flash (Trailer 2)
- The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (Teaser Trailer)
- Killers of the Flower Moon (Teaser Trailer)
- Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (Trailer 2)
- Napoleon (Teaser Trailer)
- Oppenheimer (Full Trailer)
- Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (Full Trailer)
- Wonka (Teaser Trailer)

Quick update now that CinemaCon has come to an end this year. Each of the trailers above debuted there privately this week, but here's what we're looking at in terms of public releases...

Online this week...
- The Equalizer 3 (Trailer)
- The Flash (Trailer 2)
- A Haunting in Venice (Teaser Trailer)
- Next Goal Wins (Trailer)
- The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (Teaser Trailer)
- Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (Full Trailer)
- Wish (Teaser Trailer)

Online next week...
- Dune: Part Two (Teaser Trailer)
- Oppenheimer (Full Trailer)

Could be online next week/in theaters with GOTG3, could debut later in the summer...
- Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (Teaser Trailer)
- Killers of the Flower Moon (Teaser Trailer)
- Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (Trailer 2)
- Napoleon (Teaser Trailer)
- Wonka (Teaser Trailer)

Considering the amount of people on this board who were not only convinced theater-going was dead, but tried to convince the rest of us, I will never miss an opportunity to keep reminding them just how wrong they were…

I want to say first that I hope it never dies cause I love the theatre experience. Popcorn, candy, great sound system, audience reactions, (and in the past 10 years, alcohol!) it's great.

However, it's an easy thing to see it's the lowest hanging fruit for the next phase out the way technology is advancing. So I don't really blame anyone who thought COVID was the catalyst to accelerate the downfall.

This movie looks about 100,000 times better than the PoS book it's based on.

She put out a sequel probably 2 years ago. the plot twist at the end happens off-page. I read the section 5-6 times trying to figure out WTF I had missed and then finally realized it wasn't me, it was the author.

Also, hope this is better than Mockingjay Part 2. Man, what a disappointment that was, especially after such an awesome 2 movies and a decent third one.

Yeah I'll never be able to relate to anyone who only, or even mostly, wants to watch newly-released films at home. Live events in their many forms can't be beaten.

Not my preference, but as someone with an almost 2 year old and another one almost here the last 2 years of digital releases have been a godsend.

The sooner movie theaters die the better. I have popcorn and alcohol at home. My sound system is better than the theater's. Other people in the theater are largely obnoxious.

Live music cannot be beaten.

Nah. Imo, you can't have a cinematic experience in your home, especially when you can pause whatever you're watching. I don't respect anyone who outright wants theatres to die, nor would anyone who loves movies.

I admit it's selfish, I would prefer not to have to wait for things to come to streaming. I'm glad some of you still enjoy going to the theater, but I can absolutely have a better cinematic experience in my home than at a theater. I don't understand what pausing has to do with it - is missing 7 minutes of the 3rd act to pee an integral part of the experience?

You can enjoy watching it at home, and I am with you for most movies that come out. But its just not a better cinematic experience.

You just described almost every person in America lol...which is admittedly part of our (American) problem.

I don't desire the movie theater experience to go away. But lets be real here - Hollywood is ruled by profits. They wouldn't want the movie theater experience to stay if they didn't believe it was in their best interests to keep it around.

And to those who think the home theater experience is lacking...you just haven't put enough money into it and/or simply have opinionated thoughts on the matter (nostalgia, social aspects, etc.). And there's nothing wrong with that - to each his own.

And no, you can't have a better cinematic experience at home. You prefer sitting on your couch, which is not the same thing.

It's not exactly a matter of opinion. An IMAX screen is the size of a house, and a movie theater sound system simply cannot be surpassed at home, no matter how much money you spent or what the guy who set it up told you.

Why assume he is sitting on a couch? Or do you just like assuming things instead of asking questions?

The most uncomfortable seats I've sat in while watching movies has always been at a theater. Those powered recliners at Cinemark? Horrible! Can't recall a single movie theater seat that was really very comfortable.

How silly of me to assume your direct response to my post wasn't a direct response to my post.

Either way, I take offense to nothing you said. I just literally have no idea what point you're trying to make. That studios keep putting movies in theaters because movies keep making money in theaters? Yeah? And?

This is is such a weird convo, started by some rando doing a drive by.

What a great debate strategy - use a movie experience that isn't representative of the majority of theaters to base your argument on!

The size of screen does not matter (that's what she said!). What is more important is the field of view when viewing any given screen (how much of what you see is taken up by the screen) and pixel density/size.

As for sound...this just shows how ignorant you are on the matter. A large space like an IMAX theater requires a tremendous amount of investment because of the volume of space required to fill it. Its very easy to meet and exceed such sound in a smaller home theater environment - both quality of sound as well as quantity (especially in the lower frequencies that you feel instead of hear). But keep on with the ignorance and belief in the Hollywood marketing departments. Whatever keeps you happy.

Sorry for the side track - but I hate to see ignorant comments go without being called out. Last post, I promise.

I guess we're spoiled in LA since we have the best indie, art house, and multiplex theaters in the US, though there are plenty of worthwhile ones elsewhere. To be fair, I'm young so the seats themselves don't matter much.
