My thoughts exactly. I realize it is his childhood dream, but I'd much rather have a master spent his time on something new than remaking a movie that won 10 Oscars and is considered an all time great. Just a needless remake, but I'll still see it.
Yeah, I'm honestly more excited for In the Heights. Though if you're someone who hasn't even seen West Side Story you'll be amazed how much of the music you know.

Yeah, it just screams "generic future action movie." Looks like something we've seen a hundred times before. Which isn't necessary the movie's fault - for all we know it could be great. But either give a true teaser or an actual trailer. This thirty-second blip is just a bunch of montagey nothingness that only does a disservice to the product.
Yeah, my thoughts as well. Per the synopsis there's apparently a time travel element involved so maybe there's more to it that we haven't see yet.
Related, I ran across Boss Level with Frank Grillo on Hulu last week and it turned out to be surprisingly entertaining. Seemed like a generic Groundhog Day concept applied to an action film but it went to some fun places and had some solid action sequences.

Btw, if Forum 16 were personified, I imagine it would look *exactly* like Matt Damon does in this movie.
Which is incredibly spot on, as it's basically everyone may dad works with, all rolled into one.
IMO, Damon absolutely nailed an authentic Texas accent in Ford vs Ferrari. Combined with this look, he's quickly cornering the super-authentic-Texan market (even though, yes, his character here is technically from Oklahoma).

I want to be excited for Snake Eyes and still have high expectations for this, but the trailer is a bit meh. It's very possible they do some cool stuff with this set in Japan, but just nothing special so far.

Every news outlet is reporting the former, only one WB employee (so far) is still publicly claiming the latter. My guess is no day-and-date, but the details are still being worked out, and until they're finalized the official word remains the same.

I was looking forward to it, as I grew up reading the comics back in the early 80's and Snake Eye's origin is really good. But, this trailer had nothing in it that screamed "G.I. Joe" or even "Snake Eyes" except for the helmet. Hopefully, the full trailer is better than this generic ninja movie this first teaser gave us.
