I think a lot of people are going to want to see this together, as a communal experience. So many people I know - friends and family alike - absolutely cannot wait to see it. And I could be wrong, but for many of them I just don't think HBO Max will suffice. It *is* the Hamilton crowd, after all, along with so many other demographics, ethnicities, etc, that I think will flock to the theater for this one. Especially in the wake of the pandemic, which should basically be in our rearview by June 18th. In fact, this could very well be the first big theatrical event of the summer.

Likely less due to the pandemic and more due to the fact that F9 moved back to the same day (June 25) this was originally scheduled to come out...

Sooooo are we ever gone get a movie? Like every movie I wanna see keeps getting the bump... it's almost April! I just want black widow!!!

- Nobody, which is getting great reviews, hits theaters this Friday.

- Godzilla vs. Kong hits theaters (along with HBO Max) March 31.

Admittedly, April looks pretty barren, but then it's increasingly looking like...

- Black Widow will, indeed, hit theaters May 7.

And then basically every week thereafter, throughout the summer, will see at least one major theatrical release.

Nobody has me considering going back to the movies for the first time since tenet

Of course, literally minutes after I post that, the date changes. At least it's sticking to this summer...

I think that's the best trailer I've ever seen.

Tomorrow, with the first big-name trailer set to debut in I don't know how long - for James Gunn's The Suicide Squad in advance of Godzilla vs. Kong - hopefully this means the floodgates are about to open with trailers for many of the other big-name, second-half-of-the-year blockbusters. April will still be somewhat barren in terms of big theatrical releases, but come May I'd be willing to bet we start to see trailers for a decent chunk of the list below. That said, just because there won't be many big April movies in theaters doesn't mean studios don't need to start marketing some of these ASAP, so we could start a couple of them online any day/week now. All in all, between now and the release of Black Widow on July 9 (some of these attached *to* BW on 7/9), I would expect to see...

Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson's 'Saw' Sequel Moves Up Release Date

It's moving up a week to May 14th since "Black Widow" has left it's May 7th date.

So Godzilla v Kong didn't release any footage for the longest time... and from what I read they said like once they put that trailer out everyday was like a new 30 second tv spot that could basically stitch the movie together. Apparently the guy I follow said Mortal Kombat is going down that same path, tons of new 30 second tv clips coming out what seems daily
