yeah, it is a 'semi-fictional' memoir. sounds like a snoozer of a movie.

The author of the book the movie is based on claimed that his book was the true story of his life/addiction/recovery. Oprah promoted it and the book blew up into a massive success. Except, it turned out, the guy made up most of "his" story. He was an addict who recovered, but it wasn't nearly in the dramatic fashion he alleged. So now I'm just wondering why they're making a movie from such a controversial fake story, and not only completely glossing over the controversy, but seemingly promoting the lie. Just seems weird...

Not really, Blair Witch was the original viral marketing and "found footage" and from that, people just thought it was true. The Fibers guy stole stories/made up stuff and sold it as true.

True, but I'm pretty sure the Blair Witch marketing was meant to actually fool people. They wanted you to believe it was true.

Give me this movie now. This looks f-ing fantastic. It looks like Bowfinger meets Black Dynamite.

Trailers usually don't make me laugh out loud. This one did....several times. That it's an Eddie Murphy movie is especially surprising lately.

Ha. The reviews out of Cannes seemed to indicate its his most linear, plot driven film to date.

It looks very good to me, but I am also wary of being duped.

Btw, this is a really great trailer too. I've never read or seen any of the Little Women iterations, so I'm excited to be going in fresh.

I was really surprised he didn't get the role of Shang Chi, but also kind of relieved. He's very likable, but he definitely isn't a good actor
