And it looks like the full trailer Birds of Prey is holding of 'til January as well. With Warner Bros. releasing trailers for WW84, Tenet, and maybe even Dune this month, I guess I can see how it makes sense to wait 'til January to go all out for Birds of Prey, which hits in February.

Also, there's no way John Wick 4 and Matrix 4 come out on the same day. Wick will no doubt be moving to later in the year, if not 2022...

That does seem like a weird and risky/a-hole move by WB to have it come out the same day.

It sounds like they were talking with Lionsgate behind the scenes. The productions were going to overlap a bit, and it looks like WB won out. I don't think it was surprise, as Keanu's schedule had to be worked out between the two productions. My guess is Lionsgate announces a change fairly soon.

Btw, Matrix 4, Batman, Space Jam 2, and Suicide Squad are all WB. I don't know that I've ever seen a studio go this big over a single summer.

Your annual comments about the next year/summer being "the most anticipated year/summer" is like the sun rising in the east and setting in the west!

Ha. I think I subconsciously blocked Disney out because they're on such a different level. That, and I always forget to consider animated movies. I've just never seen WB be this aggressive, and I love it.

Re: my summer hype, I'll give you that, but it's also an arms race that's seemingly constantly unprecedented. That said, while *I'm* really looking forward to summer 2020, it doesn't come close to '19 or '21, so my hype isn't quite "annual," but point taken.

And to the surprise of no one: "and pulled "Akira" off the schedule."

I've never been a big fan of musicals, but this looks incredible. Like, a massive summer hit. Same day as Top Gun: Maverick, too.
