I'm going on a bit of a rant here, but I too get real tired of the liberal politics of the Oscars and Hollywood in general. Most of Hollywood is very wealthy and so out of touch that they are the last people who should give their opinion on topics outside of entertainment.

Do we really need Sean Penn meeting which foreign leaders/dictators? What are his qualifications?

Should Hollywood be lecturing anyone on anything right now? It hasn't been a year and a half since the Harvey Weinstein scandal and all the aftermath. These people are such hypocrites - it is pathetic.

I worked in Hollywood for 3 years (1989-1991) and still see several movies a month at the theater. I try to compartmentalize so I can still enjoy the movies. If I boycotted (for lack of a better word) all of the movies with actors, producers, directors, etc. that have politics/attitudes/crap that I don't agree with their wouldn't be a whole lot left to see as far as movies.

Sorry, but I used to love Hollywood and now it is such a cesspool. It is really sad to be honest.

They tried that this year with "Best Popular Movie" and they got so ridiculed they took it off.

It used to be when Oscar nominations came out, you looked to see which of your favorite films got nominated. Now, when Oscar nominations come out, you look to see what random films youve never heard of got nominated.
