How great would it be if there was a PG-version and an R-rated version, where the only difference was Pikachu's dialogue?

After I posted I knew I could have looked there, so lazy posting for me. That does look pretty dang funny.FightinTexasAg15 said:https://texags.com/forums/13/topics/2956295/lastCE Lounge Lizzard said:

It would make some money, but would Toy Story PG or R make more? All the kids who watched Toy Story 1 are probably in 30s now.PatAg said:Why wouldn't it? All the kids that grew up playing Pokemon are adults now.Farmer1906 said:
Pokmon would never allow that. It wouldn't make money.
Now we need a ruling from aTm on whether this is too hollywood sell out or not.FightinTexasAg15 said:https://texags.com/forums/13/topics/2956295/lastCE Lounge Lizzard said:

Pikachu was so much more interesting than how they are portraying him. In his biography, it implicitly stated he was not voiced by Ryan Reynolds. Obviously the facts don't matter to Hollywood when it comes to a biopic (pronounced buy-AH-pic)
Why would they focus on him being a detective instead of being a world-class pokemon champion? And why is there so much regarding the human and the relationship with his father? If I wanted to see that, I'd stay at home and talk to my own father.
If they really cared about the facts when it comes to Pokemon, they would highlight Alakazam. A much more intelligent and important Pokemon than Pikachu. I will not be seeing this movie as it is racist.
I don't think i have a single interest/hobby from when I was 13 except maybe star wars. Everything else is stuff that i discovered years later.Brian Earl Spilner said:
If you're anything like me, once you reach that age, you pretty much like what you like.
By freshman year I already had all my obsessions such as LOTR, Star Wars, Zelda, etc. And they just grew from there.
There's that one theory I've read about that what you are most into at age 13 is what you'll be most passionate about the rest of your life. Certainly true for me.
Yep. I was in elementary as well. I remember having the cards and the first games (Red/Blue) on Gameboy. I was into it for the 1st generation of games and cards. Didn't follow it much after that. Hell I think they are like 10 generations in or something.Quote:

I was in middle school then so that makes sense. it's still pretty big. my elementary age kid is getting cards for Christmas.Brian Earl Spilner said:

I was the "right" age, I just couldn't be bothered for some reason.
Well, I was into skateboarding at 13. Haven't though about that in years.Brian Earl Spilner said:

You would have needed to have a little brother/sister if you are 38.TCTTS said:
Btw, when did Pokemon become a "thing"? I'm 38, and this thread makes me feel old as sh*t. I know literally nothing about Pokemon, but I remember it as something that hit when it felt like I was already too old to be into it, but I can't remember if that was high school, college, or after.
That said, as I mentioned in the 2019 release thread, this actually looks pretty good. Like, really good, to the point where I've watched the trailer three times now and find myself legit looking forward to the movie itself.

Doubt Nintendo will let a Pokemon movie be R.
This doesn't really change things but Nintendo doesn't have a say. Nintendo has a stake in the company and licenses the RPG video games exclusively for their hardware. That's it.
The Pokmon Company International holds the decision-making power.
It'll be PG.
The Pokemon Company is owned by Nintendo (and a couple of the developers of the games).
The Pokmon Company is not owned by Nintendo. This is a common misunderstanding. Nintendo has a stake in the company and licenses its RPG games exclusively.
Nintendo has little say in the creative direction they take, especially for something that isn't one of the RPG games.
I think I saw some stat somewhere that said Pokemon was the highest grossing franchise of any format worldwide, including Star Wars. This movie has the potential to do gangbusters at the worldwide box office.TCTTS said:
