So Gandalf and Elrond are around right? Who else?
Likely Thranduil
Radaghast and Saruman
Tom Bombadil (I know, he was not in the movies, but I want at least one cameo).
Treebeard
Shelob
Balrog
Sauron
And that should do it

They should cast whoever they want. She didn't define the role.redline248 said:
We might even see Khazad-dum during it's peak.
Question: Would Amazon include Galadriel and not ask Kate Blanchet to return in the role? Would she even do it? Would they want a younger actress?

I hope not.redline248 said:

There is no reason why they cannot include events occurring in the undying lands at this time as well. So the istari could show up as well.
The music was just about perfect for the films and should be considered one of the greatest soundtracks of all timeQuote:
I want this show to be its own thing, and not beholden in any way shape or form to Jackson's movies. I'm even in favor of drawing from a different well for art direction, musical score, etc.
that and the couple of times the Rohirrim sound all their horns at the same time. Must be some ancestral blood, but I'm ready to throw downMuckRaker96 said:

For some reason, I always felt like that scene is perfect for MST3K. When he says ROHIRRIM, and they just appear, would be a perfect time to say "YO", similar to Space Balls when Dark Helmet says 'How many *******s are on this ship?'Cstrickland05 said:
Theoden king stands alone.
Not alone. Rohirrim!
Best part of all 3 movies.

I get goosebumps just thinking about these parts (and the music in general). That's how good they are.
I also love when Gandalf throws Saruman out of Theoden's body and offers him to take his sword back up again. Have you ever loved a screen character that you just met more than you love Theoden at this moment? The Dog Lord said:PatAg said:that and the couple of times the Rohirrim sound all their horns at the same time. There are a lot of great stories in the 1st Age, but the problem is that there are not a lot of TV mian characters in those stories. There are great characters: the Valar, Feanor, Melkor/Morgoth, Thingol and Melian, Tuor, Beren and Luthien, etc. Unfortunately, none of them stick around long enough to be the main focus of a TV series. The Vala Quenta and Quenta Silmarillion can only be done (imo) in an anthology series.Fightin TX Aggie said:
I understand why they would do the 2nd Age to connect to Sauron and the rings, but I would much rather have seen first age stories. The crafting of the silmarils. Feanor battling balrogs before the gates of Morgoth's keep. The entire tale of Beren & Luthien (which ties in with Sauron). The height of Gondolin. And its fall.
Lots of great 1st Age material. /nerd
