I was hoping the would actually kill some of the white walkers to take out large chunks of the undead army to even the odds. I get you want it to feel hopeless but about halfway through episode I realized it was pretty much going to end with them killing the NK. There was just no other way for them to win...

If the other walkers get their power from the night king, then in that final moment, he and all his power was singularly focused on ending Bran. Similar to Sauron not focused on Frodo and Sam. By the time he realized it, he was undone.

Awesome episode but I am truly annoyed that the story was as simple as can be and there was no surprise and Cersei really is the final villain after all these years of build up with the NK.

Still epic, still awesome, and I definitely thought Arya would try but would fail and die before the episode started. Just wish ultimate end game was the NK. That's just probably because I'm more of a high fantasy fan.
