So I guess Jon will fall in love with some Free Folk woman. They have a son and the son gets the word somehow he's the heir to the throne and the whole story starts again.
The person that is not willing to fight and die, if need be, for his country has no right to life.

Jon didn't have to be king and still didn't have to die. Knights watch is just exile now, which I'm fine with.

There is no Night's Watch. Bran was sending Jon north with the free folk.

Bran being chosen as King was a surprise twist, but other than that, I think the ending was pretty damn reasonable.

Sansa played the game better than anyone this season. In the end, she had her army right there with her to back her "request" that they become a separate kingdom, and that's all she ever wanted.

That was terrible, what a huge fumble this entire season has been. Can't believe we had to wait 2 years to get that garbage

Yep. Jon is a king in all but name, and of the people he truly belongs to

No he specifically sent him to the Knights Watch and Tyrion reminded him he will never marry or father children.

For the most part, I like the concept of how it ended (Jon killing Dany but back to Castle Black, Bran as king). But overall, this thing needed George RR Martin to write dialogue and put it all together.

Presumably Bran=King is GRRMs ending. This wtf was preordained basically when they couldnt really visually use or explain the extent of Brans story and powers. They basically got to where GRRM stopped showing only what he physically minimally did and then after that Bran is just an automaton. Bran is a major POV character in the books along with Tyrion, Dany, and Jon but he wasn't in the show because hes not a good action series type character. They did really poorly, they basically punted and said "well we can make it so nobody will see it coming, lets do it like that"

In leading he Night's Watch, Jon will be partnering with the free folk/wildlings to keep the peace up there. That's how I saw that.

By the way, when jon kissed Danny, right up until I heard the sound of the knife in her gut, I was having Star Wars episode 2, running through the fields flashbacks. I might have turned it off right there if he hadn't killed her.

It got him past Drogon and into the castle to kill Dany. I wouldn't say nothing.

Yeah but with the Nights Watch leaving the wall, it seems like Jon has basically been exiled into kingship beyond the wall

Hated it. Dany and Jon were all-time developed characters. Like nothing I've ever seen. Perfect. The show centered around their progression and they just kinda get discarded in the end. Just seems like a waste of that development to me for their conclusion to not have greater implications for the future.

The best moment in the episode is when he pets the fckin dog so that kinda says it all.

I thought the worst part of the execution of this entire episode was that her death moment felt like a bad Anakin-Padme scene from the Star Wars prequels. I was about to vomit by the time he knifed her. So much bad, cheesy dialogue in this episode. Made me wonder if they farmed it out to George Lucas

That was Tyrion telling Jon (the true Targaryen heir) not to have a son who could later keep the wheel turning. There are zero Nights Watchmen at Castle Black. Only people there are the free folk, and Tyrion and all of the Starks knew that.

the entire point is that everyone had their place and Bran was putting them there to fulfill that destiny. Jon is a Targarean. Dragon could sense this in Jon. This allows Jon to gain access to Dani. It was supposed to happen this way.
