Gonna be hard to top Come On Eileen.

This is basically known as THE quintessential one hit wonder by many people in their 30s 40s and 50s.

"Take On Me" & " Come on Eileen " are the 2 songs that come to mind first.

Tom cocrane was lead singer of Red Rider which was also a one hit wonder with Lunatic Fringe....which is a fine song.

How about making this old school with

Michael Praetorius' Terpsichore and one of the most covered one hit wonders of all time Johan Pachelbel's Canon

The Prodigy weren't one-hit wonders, and they weren't obscure.

I can't call Everlast a one-hit wonder either, due to his time with House of Pain (so basically a 2-hit wonder).

Sneakerpimps comes to mind for me.
62strat
How long do you want to ignore this user?
ahh yes sneakerpimps 6 underground, also in that vain cowboy junkies cover sweet jane, also mazzy star fade into you. missed a couple of those chick ones.

everlast is def a one hit wonder.. house of pain is totally different band/group..

just like coverdale/page, or damn yankees, etc.

according to chart performance, wicked game is by far his only hit, and it's not even #1.
'wont let her down' in 2009 was #5 on adult, I know we've all heard that one.

Hey I love the guy's voice and music, but he's a one hit wonder, thanks to his videographer.

Bruce, yeh I thought about leaving out tonic.. on mainstream rock tracks chart, open your eyes was #2, and you wanted more was #3, those combined with #1 if you could only see gives them pretty good rock radio presence.
But billboard top 100, only if you could only see was really made it high up the chart.

I honestly didn't check a lot of these to see if they charted high and on which chart.. but most of them only really had the one song, while some had other pretty minor hits.

The Wallflowers are in no remote way a one hit wonder
I could not name one, and I went to youtube and didn't recognize any when listening. You might have liked them, but they are a one hit wonder. Google "the wallflowers a one hit wonder" and there are multiple pages with different articles and lists naming them that. Sorry about your bottom.
They are without question not a one hit wonder. "Sixth Avenue Heartache" was their first single and was quite successful. They were well known before "One Headlight" was released. "One Headlight" has definitely stood the test of time better, but who knows if it would have even been a success were it not for their first hit.

Just because you only remember one of their songs, doesn't make them a one hit wonder.
Annnnd just because you're the only one who knows any of their other songs, doesn't make them not a one hit wonder.

Personally, I don't call them a one hit wonder, b/c their "one hit" was a crappy song. If he wasn't Bob Dylan's kid, they would be unknown.

Nope, not a sock of PatAg. But, I stand corrected. Apparently they had 1 top 10, and 4 top 40 singles.

I thought it was well-settled law that it is a tie between:

Your Love by The Outfield; and
Jessie's Girl by Rick Springfield

This is a great thread that reminds me of a bunch of other good ones noted above.

Not yet mentioned was Zebra's 1983 hit Tell Me What You Want. Technically they might be a 2 hit wonder because of Who's Behind the Door. Anyway, my friends told me back then that these guys were going to be the next Led Zepplin. Did not happen.

The Verve are US one hit wonders but they are huge in England with multiple hits. I'm not sure why their music never carried over to this country. They are a great band.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Technically I guess you'd have to call them a one hit wonder in the U.S. but they are such an amazing band. Urban Hymns is one of the best albums of all time... But yeah, big following in the UK.

No, No. I followed Infantry's link and noticed the outfield had 51million views and Rick Springfield had only 17 million views. Stacy's mom had like 53 million. While I was you tubing, I also watch the Zebra videos.

I never even heard of the spice girls.

Missing out bud.

And I was joking. They were not a one hit wonder by any means, but for educational purposes:
