I'm pretty sure the king is played by the same actor that is Mycroft Holmes on Sherlock.

Anyone with some context on what exactly are the maladies affecting the king in the show? I know George 3 had some issues but that was back in middle school when I learned about it. The only thing I remember is that he peed purple.

I haven't watched this week's episode, but the one with gout from last week's episode is more than likely George IV.

According to wiki, George 3 was king until 1820.

I am enjoying this show. The ensemble cast is quite good.

I am really digging it. Set production much be very, very expensive. I recall that HBO ended Rome after two seasons because the set production was so expensive. Hope Taboo doesn't have the same fate.

I thought this was a one season mini series.

i suppose so, but i always kind of assumed he had something supernatural going on. can't think of another time.

I guess I knew it was coming, but it always feels like a shift when it becomes explicit.

I like the show, but they need to narrow the focus a bit and move the story along with James/Nootka and the E.I.T.C.

the long distance, black magic O faces don't really serve to move the story along, and seem a little needless.

Does he have super healing abilities? Because it seems like he heals quickly after getting stabbed in the abdomen and then getting his forehead clubbed. The amount of time that passes between episodes or even within an episode is a mystery.

I agree it's an incredible show. His half sister is raunchy!

I'm watching this show. But I can't tell if I'm enjoying or understanding the show. Others seem to love it.

Guess I'll keep watching.

It's a big ass game of international intrigue, with some dashes of crazy African witch doctor stuff.

Another great episode. This show has settled in a bit and it's really hit it's stride. Really enjoying it

The one question I have is what exactly is Delany's end game? Is it to screw the Company? Does he want the trade monopoly? Does he want to free the Indians?

Just having a hard time putting together what it is he is out to do.

My guess is it's revenge on the company and has something to do with that ship of slaves that sank.

Plot twist guess:

Delaney sired his "half-sister" with his mother.

will be interesting to see who all gets a seat on the ship to America (and who gets left behind)

Watching this show with captions is pretty funny. All the hmms and grunts

Great series. A couple of questions please:
In the intro for each episode where people are drowned, is that an American flag that is underwater with them? (The music is subperb IMO)

Who is the actor playing the American physician spy and what has he starred in before?

Who and why was the lady who that Delaney reported the gunpowder would be completed? Had she appeared in an earlier episode?

Why did Delaney let the opponent fire first in the duel?

How did Delaney know who amongst the robbery crew ratted him out to the Americans (the guy who lost his thumb)?

What's the significance of the young black girl who wants a ride to America?

Watching on demand through Mediacom sux! No fast forward or rewind. I got interrupted watching this episode and had to it start over from the beginning and walk away for 48 minutes. I'm an old so there probably a way to overcome this, but...
