How long do you want to ignore this user?
Luc Besson's new movie. It definitely has a Fifth Element feel to it.

Not gonna watch trailers, but looking forward to Luc Besson returning to space-operas.

Really hoping this is more Fifth Element than Jupiter Ascending. I don't mind CGI landscapes/environments/etc., but I'm really starting to get tired of CGI creatures/aliens, and this looks to be chalk full of them. Still, it also looks like a super fun ride, and Luc Besson knows what he's doing, so we'll see. Summer 2017 is going to be insane...

Looks intriguing and enjoyable. I'll see it, but I wonder if they're going to keep some of Laureline's backstory from the graphic novel sine it appears that they're going with them being a working team already.

Think it looks really weird but hey I did love the fifth element and that was definitely weird too.

Reminds me of that movie Jon Carter(or whatever). I have no clue what this is about. Might redbox.

Luc Besson >> the Wachowski's.

This looks like it could be really cool.

The Matrix is better than anything Besson has ever done, but overall, I think I'd have to agree. Maybe. I'd put The Fifth Element and The Professional up against The Matrix and whatever the Wachowski's second best movie is (V for Vendetta? Speed Racer?) any day of the week, but even the Wachowski's misses are pretty damn interesting. I can't say the same for Besson's (I thought Lucy was crap, and Taken, The Transporter, etc., are all so second rate).

I will say, though, the more I watch this trailer, the more excited I get. Even the creature/alien effects are pretty flawless upon closer look.

Good luck to this thing in the US - won't clear $75MM here. But it will crush it overseas.

Most people probably aren't even aware it's based on a comic/graphic novel. I see them probably trying to sell it mainly with star power of Cara Delevigne. But yeah, I doubt this will do well here.

Spider-Man: Homecoming, War for the Planet of the Apes, Dunkirk, The Dark Tower, and the next Alien movie all come out within a four-week window before/after this hits, so yeah, unfortunately, I see it getting lost in the shuffle. Hopefully it's good enough that word-of-mouth can give it a fighting chance.

Actually, now that I think about it, I'd be shocked if it doesn't just move to the second half of August or sometime in September. It would be suicide to keep it directly up against a Christopher Nolan movie, which is where it is now, never mind the other behemoths on either side of its release date. I bet once the trailers for all those others hit, and EuropaCorp gets a good look at what they're up against, it movies.

Stop trying to make ****ing Cara Delevigne happen

And all you Sci-Fi fans better hope this works, because if this pulls a Jupiter Ascending good luck getting any movie made in this vein... unless it has the word "Avatar" in it

Exactly. Frankly, the fact that this got made is pretty surprising to me.

I can take a guess at why it was: Guardians of the Galaxy.

Movie could very well be good, just seems like it's got to be VERY difficult to act when there is nothing real happening around you, right?

Is it just me or when the music hit for the original trailer, did you think the song was a remake of "Fat Bottomed Girls?"

So unless Rhianna has the comedic chops of Chris Tucker this isn't Fifth Element.

I also have the biggest issue with the emo kid as the lead. For whatever reason I become accustomed to small blonde women being action stars but not some dumb emo boy.

Throw some queen in there and it Flash Gordon baby!... well replacing jock with emo and better cgi and no Melody Anderson and.....

I remember when The Fifth Element came out and we had no clue what to expect from it (the trailer was very mysterious).

I was blown away by how original, inventive and just plain fun that movie was. This movie looks like it could be that kind of fun again. I sincerely hope it is and that it is successful. We need these kind of films.

The Fifth Element is one of my all time favorites, so unique, fun, and kinda perfect to me. I love it. I hope this could be somewhere in that territory, the trailer looks like fun for sure. But even Lucy was fun for a while, till it took a nasty left turn.

He's written a number a movies that are just plain fun. The Professional, The Transporter, Taken, The Family (highly recommend if you haven't seen it). I hope this film is fun like those are.

I just don't have faith in Dane Dehaan and Eyebrows McGee
TCTTS
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Ha. It is weird that he didn't land anymore even just a bit more high profile. Dehaan is fine, but doesn't scream action star, and this is only Eyebrow McGee's third movie or something, and she's never had a role this big. I don't quite get the casting part of all of this at all.

I'm one of the 75 people worldwide who saw A Cure For Wellness. Dane DeHaan better hope for the sake of his career this does well.

He's ok, but I don't think he's a leading man. And I definitely don't think he's an action star.
TCTTS
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I take it it cured you of your wellness? Yeah, there was a brief, fleeting period where it felt like he was the next big thing, and then... nothing. He just needs to play DiCaprio's brother in something and get it over with. I think that's all anyone is waiting for with him.

Dropped all their cash on the stellar visuals. Had to gamble on up and comers instead of a couple of mega stars.

My completely unprofessional guess.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I think that Eyebrows was cast as she was/is thought of as "up and coming." Whether or not that happens could be helped by a movie like this.

Personally, I find her very pleasing to look at...eyebrows and all.

Amazing Spider-Man 2 did a lot more harm than good for a lot of us.
