Could the night king be Bran? We have no backstory on the guy other than the children stabbed him with a shard to creat him... in a weird time paradox, Bran goes back and gets stuck, knowing he must stop this war. The children find him (like when the NK touched him when he was dreamseeing before) and turn him. Now he's been waiting and gathering his dead army so he can stop .... himself, from making the mistake of going back and getting stuck...?titanmaster_race said:

Bran is also Bran the Builder who built the Wall and Winterfell with Giants and the children of the forest. HBO DVD material about Bran the Builder showed him being carried on a platform for example.
The voices that drove Aerys mad were Bran in his head.
Bran gets stuck in a green seeing vision back there...the COTF stab him with dragon glass and he becomes the NK
The NK is coming to the wall to stop Bran (himself) from repeating this mistake.
the legends have all been told by Bran...but they were future visions not past visions...the Grey King is Euron, Lann the Clever is Tyrion, the Prince that was promised is Jon - promised by Bran.
