Yeah. I would definitely like to see this in future seasons and would assume that he would have that kind of power. I like the connection to Butterfly Effect, and it would be cool to see that the holes or tamperings in the memories we have seen are because he is somehow altering them in the future. Would kind start a whole new component of mind blowing stuff. Which is something they'll have to do.

I just started the show and watched chapters 1-6 over weekend and even rewatched chapter 1 again last night. I was talking about this show at the office with some coworkers and each had mixed opinions like a lot of you in here. Some loved it and others were watching it but constantly thinking about giving up. I think when this show is fully available to be binge watched, it will be a much more enjoyable experience. I agree with the way the plot has moved through the first 6 chapters that at times it's a little slow or can feel like parts are just taking up space. Even some of the character dynamics don't make the most sense to me. Having said that, I definitely believe Hawley will come through.

Where some people describe it as faux intellectual and too weird, I think that's definitely the point of this first season. We and David are both trying to figure out how this all works. I'm betting that when this season finishes, it'll really set the stage for what's to come. I also believe as the whole series continues, these mega-bizarre scenes that are just so far out there will start to all make a lot more sense. I just refuse to believe that it would be written any other way. That may be giving Hawley far too much credit, but I think this show is going to take off in a big way when it's fully available.

As someone who is rarely truly intrigued by a lot of today's TV shows, I honestly cannot wait to see the final 2 chapters and hoping the payoff is worth it.
Agree. Its bizarre but so is the situation. I mean, a consciousness of another mutant is trying to take over the mind of a very powerful mutant that has incredible powers he doesn't understand yet. So he's trying to figure out all this mess. And so are we. That's what makes it intriguing to me.

The only thing to me that felt unnecessarily... for lack of a better word I'll say artsy, was the silent movie bit. Otherwise, I think the style sort of fits the show/situation.

I can respect that. I actually think that element made the episode better though. Don't know why just thought it was cool. This show doesn't suffer from bad dialogue. But doing it that way actually helped save the moment from possibly less than perfect dialogue at the climax of the episode. I appear to be in the minority that actually enjoys the over embellishment of a sort of artsy delivery.

My opinion: Pretty "meh" finale to go along with a pretty "meh" TV series. Even the post credits scene wasn't that interesting.

From what I've read, Oliver (with the Shadow King inside him) is going to be the main villain going forward. Which sucks b/c i hate the Oliver character (aka the Architect from Matrix Revolutions).

Not sure I'll watch a 2nd season.

I thought it was an underwhelming finale, too, but I liked the whole season. I also like Oliver.

So what the hell was that thing that scanned and sucked up David in the post credit scene? Is that something from the comics or no?

Overall, I thought the finale - the final two episodes, really - made for a pretty strong ending. But I totally get not being into the series as a whole, as I was nearly out a little over halfway through. I know the magic number is eight episodes for a limited season/series like this, but this really should have been five or six. It was no doubt an interesting story told like we've never seen before, which I grew to appreciate more and more, but man, there was a lot of wheel spinning there for a couple of episodes.

Either way, Aubry Plaza was the first season MVP, hands down, and was one of main reasons I kept coming back. Dan Stevens too was great throughout, especially in the last two episodes (I really loved that whole sequence where his British self was helping him out - maybe my favorite part of the season). I'll come back for those two performances alone.

I have to say, though, as much as I like Jemaine Clement, him as the "villain" going forward does nothing for me. And David getting taken away by whatever that thing was felt almost too out of left field as opposed to the big cliffhanger it was intended to be.

I thought the whole season was great. Psychedelic, weird, and awesome - just like the 60's/70's/futuristic fantasy hybrid era that it takes place in.

I guess that drone thing was the "equinox" or whatever the div3 people said. No idea about its origin.

Agree that Aubrey was great throughout.

I'm doubled down on next season if they send David to the Mojoverse!

Count me in the "loved it" camp.

I completely understand the complaints, but at 8 episodes I was ok with the story style and direction and thought it was pretty fantastic. It was definitely unlike anything I've ever seen on tv.

Absolutely. Love Aubrey Plaza although I always figured she was kind of a one trick pony... What a job of showing some range and she absolutely killed it. Definitely stole the show... I thought she was going to have a pretty small part after the first episode, but loved the direction they went with her.

I thought the ending was decent enough despite my criticism of the first half of the season minus episode 1.

I really think this is a show I would prefer to binge watch rather than wait week to week. It might avoid some of the frustrations if it begins to stall and repeat itself again.

Thing about cutting the cord, sometimes you don't hear about shows like this before they run. Upside is I got to binge watch this entire season over the last week or two.

I enjoyed the first season a LOT.

I don't know... writers take it personally when someone guesses the actual path/answer to their mystery.

Look at Lost for example (spoiler if you haven't watched Lost): People guess it was purgatory in the first season. Writers said NO NO NO... it's not purgatory, you idiots. Then when it was all over it was essentially purgatory.

Lost is a good foil to Legion

Both shows had a style that used mysterious plots and crazy swings to leave the audience confused.

However, Lost had no clear direction. It introduced new plot lines to distract the audience from the current situation, but never addressed many of the questions it raised.

Legion, on the other hand, was clearly written show. Although it was misleading at times, most of the plots it raised were addressed and led to the conclusion.

For example:

In Lost, why did the numbers keep on reoccurring/what was there significance?
There are theories, but it is never explained

In Legion, why was there a fat man with yellow eyes in the corner of the kitchen when David explodes?
It's a big WTF when you first see it, but in retrospect it makes perfect sense.

Finished binging the show. Holy wow, that was... I'm a bit at a loss of words of how good that show is. That first episode should be study on how to kick-off a series.

I haven't read through this thread yet, so it may have been noted, but the soundtrack has been superb, and this song in particular carried so much weight:

Preacher is pretty high up there in the weirdness spectrum (maybe even more so), but Legion is so much more satisfying.
