I found it a bit odd that the camera kept focusing on the deer head on the wall in the girl's apartment. Afterwards I mentioned to my fiance that I thought there could be a hidden camera inside the mount. She laughed at me, but that's my hail mary theory after episode 1.
Yea I noticed this as well. The way they focused on the deer head made it seem like it (or someone) was watching everything go down.
The deer head was moved. Go back and look at the deer head when they head upstairs. Then look at the deer head when Naz goes upstairs after waking up in the kitche. The deer head is facing the opposite direction and it looks like the hat that was there the first time is missing.

After a bit of reading, it seems to be a production mistake. We see the head three times, and the first and last time it's in the same position. If it moved at all in the middle, it was likely an accident.

Naz's lawyer can possibly get the knife thrown out since the chain of evidence was broken on that and one other item (can't remember the other item).

Was that a parking ticket he removed from his windshield before fleeing? Or just a random flier of sorts? Couldn't tell, but if he got the ticket much earlier than when the neighbor called the cops, it could come into play somehow.

It was a parking Ticket.

Before he was pulled over, I thought the parking ticket was how they were going to find him (ala Son of Sam) - not that he'd end up getting pulled over a block away with a knife in his pocket and her blood on him.

Why is everyone calling that bypasser black guy witness Bodie? Did they say his name?
thats the same actor who played a character named Bodie in The Wire. They actually said his name last night in the show, but he's probably going to be forever referred to as Bodie.

His name in the show is Trevor and the actor is JD Williams....but I agree he is Bodie.

When they showed the interview room with Bodie on the surveillance camera all I could think of was this...

This thread is going to produce all sorts of crazy off the wall theories just like True Detective and Game of Thrones isn't it?
This. I don't understand why people even watch fiction if they pick it apart and prescribe dumb or theories.

Can't you just suspend belief and enjoy it?

Pretty damn good show.

I'm guessing his brother did it

I don't know how he would've gotten there, not sure what would be his motive, but that's what I want it to be

What's the point of posting on this thread if we don't have crazy ass theories etc.

1 thing we noticed, is when he ran back into the house, he grabbed the knife from downstairs. They never took it upstairs that I saw and to me it seems to confirm he didn't stab her because it was downstairs still where they played the knife game with little blood on it.

Box told the DA they had they had the knife "within a half inch" or something like that. Murder weapon could be a different knife.

Episode 2 was pretty boring IMO. Im sure they're still setting up characters and story line, but hopefully it picks up soon.

I went Balkans watched episode one again before the new episode. One thing I noticed in both episodes is that the camera tends to focus on and stay on naz's brother anytime he's in the picture. I'm thinking he will be a key player in the show...maybe he did it or maybe he knows who did it.

pocked up on this too. Half an inch could be thousands of different knives. What about wound depth? The knife Nas had was pretty long.

Definitely a slow episode but that's to be expected after that pilot. Turturro and the guy who plays Box are killing it in their roles.

Right now I'm thinking Mickey Doyle, in some motive about the house and the step daughter living there, etc. We'll definitely find out more about his marriage with her mother

You're going to confuse people like earlier in this thread lol.

For those who don't know Mickey Doyle was his name on Boardwalk Empire. He's talking about the stepfather.

He's entitled to his opinion. It's as valid as any of yours.

Looking back at Premiere, if you watch, the hearse driver just sits there, even after he's finished pumping gas. Take a look. The last scene you see of him, he's just leaning against the hearse, and the gas nozzle has been replace into the pump. Who knows, but seems interesting.

He and Bodie's friend both fit the mold of camera time showing suspicions, but for now I'm thinking that's just to throw us off.

So we'll move to the Stone-Box-DA chess match phase. The stepfather was an interesting character to introduce. Expect this to be more a out the characters than any kind of real twist on the plot. There will ne enough to cast some doubt to where I think we're all left with some measure of uncertainty, but I think he did it and is screwed.

I don't think you make the show if Naz did it.
Donald Glover

Yeah I feel like it has to end with us knowing someone else did it, or not knowing who did it at all
DannyDuberstein
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Sure you can. All that's needed is some doubt to help make the story compelling, which there is and I'm sure they'll introduce more. But I still think you can be left with a tragic scenario where he did it but the audience is still unsure.

I thought I recognized the guy getting his ass kicked in lock-up. It was Hacker Phantom Phreak.

Loved the reactions of the guys that had been in lock up with Naz, upon hearing what he was charged with.

The director/cinematographer made a lot of interesting choices - lots of close ups on water and water dripping.

I'm really enjoying it.

I think the sustained close-ups, introductions of wierd, suspicious characters, etc. is a ploy to constantly keep the audience thinking, He did it!!!

The focus on Turturro's feet and eczema is weird. Definitely seems to be some sort of storyline. I wonder if they'll go deeper into it or just drop it.

Also, the kid in Turturro's apartment writing the report on Thurgood Marshall/Jamie Foxx/not Denzel...did he call Turturro dad? Seemed pretty dark to be mixed race. Also, I think his mom was one of the women from an earlier scene, though I can't remember what and I didn't go back and search because it was a quickie and it's a pain on the iPad. Anyone else catch it?

We're wondering the same thing, and why so much emphasis is being placed on his darn feet.....
