Yup said it in the other thread... blue der load early... not much you can do to keep the hype going for more than a year now. They are trying to not fall behind with Star Wars and Marvel stuff but we will see what happens

They've already made it clear he won't be a "bad" guy, but just a guy dealing with things. He's just not believable at all.

A whole EFFING YEAR!! I'm really looking forward to this, but no way it will live up to expectations after waiting 12 months for it to be released. Think robie and leto look good

Side note: Going forward, don't studios have to plan on releasing full trailers the same day they are shown at Comic Con? They should quit acting surprised like their hand was forced to release it early b/c so many people pirated the trailer with cell phones, they should know this stuff is going to get out. Or don't let people in Hall H with cell phones.

I'm not a Deadshot aficionado but I'm pretty sure that's basically the characters M.O. He's an assassin, he's done bad things, but he's not evil and is primarily motivated by family. Pretty sure he has some hero/anti-hero turns.

Deadshot is probably the most famous of these guys other than Harley and maybe Croc. People have been wanting Will Smith to shed the boy scout image for years and get out of his comfort zone. It's a pretty good compromise. Still surprised he's sharing the screen with so many people and looking forward to him trying something different.

Nice of Smith to reprise his role as Hancock.

The more times I watch it, the more I hate it. It is SO boring.

I'm not impressed. At all.

I'm getting tired of these movies with a dozen different protagonists. There is no room for character development or to develop complexities in the plot and make the audience care. They're just going to scratch the surface of all these people, make them do some **** their fans want them to do, give them some one liners, and call it a day. It's sad.

i don't care about Floyd hugging his kids because I don't know who he is. I certainly don't give a **** about Amanda Waller eating a medium rare steak. I wanna see Deadshot do something badass. I don't know who Slipknot is, show me what he can do. Show Killer Croc stomping the heart out of some guy. Show Enchantress in her crazy witchy glory and Katana slinging her sword around. WHY DIDN'T A SINGLE BOOMERANG FLY AROUND A ROOM???

I need to care about the characters before I start caring why they turned evil.

I agree with swimmer. This may be the first superhero movie I do not see in theater in a long time. I don't like Amanda Waller and I the Joker in general, and I am beginning to think Deadshot on Arrow is going to be the better one, hands down, so this movie has a lot against it already for me. I do like Harley though.

Arrow made this movie a much tougher sell, for sure. They have a good Deadshot, a great Waller, a great Katana, and have at least dabbled in others. Now SS is the second time around.

In the interest of full disclosure, their Captain Boomerang was ****.

I happened to get the itch to watch the dark knight trilogy again... Batman Begins a couple days ago and finished The Dark Knight just 30 min ago. Then I see this trailer laying in bed and it pales in comparison. May not be fair, but they are rebooting a group of characters that hasn't even had a decade to cool off.

Can't really argue why the Avengers and their standalone movies are doing so much better... Because other than the Hulk they have simply gotten solid hits with each movie and had the bases loaded for the Avengers. Then they load em up and do it again.

Friggin DC barely got Superman on base and decided it was time to start swinging for the fences I guess. Maybe I'll end up liking this universe... But for now I wouldn't be running to the theater if any of these DC movies were out right now.

Yeah, that line in particular is terrible. At least try to be a little subtle.

I think their whole approach for this is wrong. I'm sure we'll see more of it in the movie, but you're basically introduced to the characters by some chick saying, "This is the most dangerous group of people in the world," then you see a bunch of strange looking people sitting around in cages in weird ways, before being assembled and subsequently.... walking around and acting kinda like strange, homeless people.

I think a guardians of the galaxy-esque trailer introducing each character's particular brand of insanity / danger would be a lot more impactful. Instead I'm left almost entirely uninterested. I get that it is trying to be dark, but it feels like everything flops. The soundtrack, which is the same kind of haunting children's choir you see in the avenger's AoU, doesn't work because AoU juxtaposes the music with all the bad **** going on. Not so here.

I dunno, this seems like it's just going to be overly busy to me with no cohesive idea driving it, so it'll end up going a thousand different directions unsatisfyingly.

People want explosions. This whole DC universe exploring the human and political consequence of things has never really been tried on a grand scale. Basically, the movie goer likes to see a city get destroyed, but we've yet to find out how they'll react when they see what happens afterwards. Death toll numbers and depression may not play well to a young crowd, especially those short attention spans (as most are). Personally, I welcome the darker side of heroism.

Jared Leto's joker was the best part of that trailer, but he still looks like crap with the tattoos. It's like they actually found another great joker, then buried him under an awful costume.

Still not sold at all on the rest of this movie. Even Harley looks like she's been turned from an interesting character to a sex doll, which will sell, but is a disappointing departure from how she's portrayed in the cartoon and games.

agreed. i've always liked DC better than Marvel due to the darker nature of it all.

Some good points here. I'm not a comics guy so outside of the joker I really don't know any of these characters. Showing what they can do would have been a great idea IMO.
