It occurs to me that Littlefinger has a serious life threatening problem. This Vale army likely includes Bronze Yohn and/or Sweetrobin. If either of them speak to Sansa, i don't see how Littlefinger survives that encounter.

Why do so many on this thread care so much that Summer died? Are you really that attached to an animal? The wolf dying seems to be a bigger takeaway than Hodor's death...is this a PETA forum?
A) lots of people are emotional about dogs
And horses. The Walking Dead keeps killing horses and GOT keeps killing the wolves.

An explanation about the dire wolves- this is at the bottom of the linked review.
"Why did this happen? Why does it seem like this show is hell bent on eliminating the dire wolves? Because it is. I actually have a teeny-tiny bit of insight into it. I'm not friends with Benioff and Weiss, but some of my friends are and they told me this: the dire wolves are the most difficult part of the entire show. The wolves themselves cost a fortune, never do what they're supposed to, and they have to be digitally re-sized from normal wolf size to dire wolf size. The showrunners know that people love the direwolves, but they're such a pain in the ass that they shut down production for hours at a time. It takes forever to get the 'right' shot of them, a shot that can be resized without people like us groaning about the obvious ****ty CGI. So if it feels like the show is out to get the dire wolves it's because they truly are. If you ask these guys what the toughest part of the show is, it's not the scripts or the leaks or the locations. It's the wolves. Period. They're the biggest pain in the ass and they'll write them out any time they can, so those of you hoping Arya reunites with Nymeria? Maybe rethink that wish."

I would have thought that the dragons would be much more difficult to work with than wolves. But what do I know, I am not an animal trainer.
quote:Like, cool I get it its sad when an animal dies. But it is not even in comparison with the loss of a 12 year old girl. I saw an article the other day about a racing horse that died after a race. Like okay, that's sad. But who puts a horse dying on the same level as a little kid. Let's have a little perspective here.quote:I saw a thing on facebook yesterday about a 12 year old girl that died when her barrel racing horse fell with her.quote:quote:

People gave equal billing and equal mourning to the death of the effing horse.
I'll never get that. People are sick in the head.
quote:I don't know if that northern army is the strongest...unless it does include Umbers and Karstarks.
I predict Sansa will make her first political move independently of LF, and marry Sweetrobin. Once Winterfell is taken (and the Vale makes their last minute entry and saves the day), she'll have LF either executed or sent to the wall.
Their new alliance should be the strongest in Westeros after that, right? Starks/Jon + Vale + all the minor Northern houses except Umbers and Karstarks > Lannisters + Tyrells ?
Plus the Tullys if what LF said wasn't BS. But I'm pretty sure it is. Either way, once Sansa has control of the North, no reason to think they can't retake Riverrun and wipe out the Freys.

As far as GoT, I can get why people are upset about the direwolves, they're pretty cool and people like dogs and don't want to see them die. Also like others said, they were portrayed in the books like they were going to play a more significant role in the story, so seeing them die is kind of disappointing from the story perspective. But I was way more effected over Hodor's death than Summer, the show did a great job with that scene it was heart breaking.
quote:Why does this depend on Rickon surviving?
and if Rickon survives she is still a Lady Bolton and in control of the strongest house in the North.
quote:Hmmmm. Sansa marries Sweet Robin? That's better than what I had planned. Great. Now I have to rewrite those 9 Sweet Robin POV chapters. Maybe Sansa can teach him how to cook lemoncakes instead of Tansy?

quote:
Once Ramsay is dead Sansa will be a very powerful widow. She will be the mistress of both Winterfell and the Dreadfort, since Roose has no other heirs, and anyone who married her will take control of the entire north.
She's also become smart enough to see this, and probably isn't especially anxious to get married again. She can consolidate a lot of power by not marrying and using that possibility to gather allies (like QE1 did). She has Jon as a military commander (assuming the show doesn't tear that relationship apart) and if Rickon survives she is still a Lady Bolton and in control of the strongest house in the North.

quote:What if Euron's Valyrian horn is the Horn of Winter?
I doubt it will be given any attention in the show, but do we think the Horn of Winter really will play a role in the books? I'm in the camp that thinks the horn Jon/Sam found at the Fist of the First Men is the true one, but didn't they just leave it?

The head of house Bolton probably rolls to Roose's brother Michael.
quote:Works only if King Rob legitimized Jon in the letter he wrote before his death. Otherwise, Sansa is (so far as she knows) the last living Stark and heir to the entire North. Why would she marry the ruler of the Vale and surrender her position? Better to marry someone who will solidify her hold on the North.

quote:I think that "Dead Ramsay" is pretty much a given in this discussion.
I don't know if that northern army is the strongest...unless it does include Umbers and Karstarks.
But also, I don't think Sansa can now marry anyone or they might not have her. The reasons she was seen as "marryable" for the Boltons was the marriage with Tyrion was never consummated. Thats not the case now it was certainly consumated with Ramsay in a bad way.
But perhaps once Ramsay is dead she might be able to marry again.
quote:Yes, unless King Rob legitimized Jon Snow/Stark. Then, it is unclear whether the older (former basterd) or the younger (trueborn) would be the heir.
Isn't Bran still the heir to Winterfell?
quote:Unless she has the Basterd's baby in her belly. In that case she rules Bolton in his name until he comes of age. She raises him as a Stark (with Bolton name), and the Dreadfort never flays anyone again.quote:Presuming that Ramsay loses his head sometime soon, I don't think that Sansa necessarily gets the keys to the Dreadfort. She has no claim to the Bolton household. The head of house Bolton probably rolls to Roose's brother Michael.

quote:We do not KNOW that he did not do so in the show universe, and we do not KNOW that he actually DID do so in the books' universe. Books are vague on the topic, and show is simply silent.
I know people have a lot of bummers about stuff that didn't make it from the books to the show. My personal bummer is that show King Robb never sent a letter legitimizing Show Jon Snow, naming him a Stark and his heir.
