Random side note, I'm stuck on the Star Trek into the darkness score right now

quote:I think one of the best scores for an entire movie is The Patriot... That music is just amazing and moving and simple and great!quote:James Newton Howard crushed that score. What a great opening chord for the movie.
I thought it was good, but I liked the score more than anything, being a musician, I just have a thing for movie scores....
I also thought his OST for The Village was fantastic with the violin soloist

I have to say that Signs was one of my favorite moviegoing experiences, quality of the film aside.
We saw it in a not the nicest theater with a bunch of people at a midnight showing. Theater was packed and the audience was really into the film, and we had a couple "Don't go in there!" types in the front row. That would normally be annoying as hell, but in this instance it was someone really entertaining and just added to the experience.
Sitting in an intense movie with an audience that collectively gasps and jumps is just a lot of fun, it was one of those rare times that seeing a film in a theater was truly a shared experience. Doesn't happen too often these days.

Most people that hate the movie is missing the point and focusing too much on the plot.

Why travel impossible distances just to say hello? All about the resources and survival. To an advance civilization we're just bugs. And here we are announcing our presence to the galaxy.
To explore strange new worlds?
To seek out new life and new civilizations?
To boldly go where no man (urr whatever alien race/species we are discussing) has gone before?
