Franco has been exceptional in many roles from multiple people, especially Freaks & Geeks and 127 Hours.

All i know is that Franco was in Freaks and Geeks, the greatest show ever made.

I'm just surprised to learn that anyone thinks anything of James Franco. That guy has always been an afterthought to me.

A thread that could have focused on Cameron Diaz in porn devolved into 3 pages of Aaron Paul vs. James Franco. I blame Obama.

I would agree that making a comedy is tough. Humor is subjective so it's hard to pander to a large audience. But IMO, the actors you see IN comedies are generally not taken seriously as actors; and that's for a reason.
