Pulp Fiction isn't a gangster film, it's a film with gangsters in it.

Brian, you are obviously full of **** for thinking Godfather II is better than Godfather.
quote:
In terms of plain ole entertainment and watchability, Goodfellas is the best. Every single time it comes on cable, I can't help but watch it.
I love the Godfather movies, but damn, I have to be in the mood to sit down and devote an afternoon to watching one.
quote:
not to derail from which Godfather is better.
but no love for Scarface?
quote:i don't generally like mob movies, but I love The Godfather. I liked Part II, but didn't love it.
I have never seen a Godfather movie

quote:How? There's nothing about mobsters or gangsters in either one. Boyz is a hood film.
I think Pulp Fiction is a gangster film but not a mob film. Boyz N the Hood could be called a gangster film.
quote:Huh? How can you claim that Boyz in the Hood is not about gangs? That's the central conflict; Bloods and Crips.

It's certainly not a mob movie.
quote:Uh, really? Doughboy and his crew are obviously Crips; the guys who shoot Ricky are obviously Bloods. Did you miss the Chicago Bulls gear and red bandannas, or did you not know what they meant?
Do you actually remember this film? Where are there crips and bloods? It isn't Colors. When Ricky got shot, it wasn't over red or blue.
quote:
The kid was 22-year-old John Singleton, and his script told the story of Tre, Ricky and Doughboy, three friends growing up with dreams of one day moving beyond their violent circumstances in South Central. The script focused on the relationship between Tre and his father, Furious Styles, a single parent trying to instill values in his troubled son contrary to the pressures and temptations of his environment.
quote:I don't think Scientific has spent much time on Crenshaw Boulevard.
No Blood could just waltz right into Crip territory during that time period. It wasn't like Colors.
Its a great film, we can at least agree on that.
