You could do a super cool Batman movie using the Riddler in the vain of Seven or Silence of the Lambs where Batman is in a battle of wits for the whole movie with an insane criminal mastermind.

Intermix some limited cool scenes of him kicking the **** out of groups of bad guys and you have yourselves a mainstream way to tell a potentially very niche thriller story line.

Runs along with the idea a lot of us have wished we'd get Fincher doing a Batman movie. Affleck directing one inspired by The Game sounded pretty awesome actually.

Maybe not with Deathstroke, although he's actually a pretty good villain.

For Shazam to work it will have to be silly and self aware. See animated movies and shows for good examples. DC hasn't proven they can do that yet.

Ummm.....he was already Sinestro in the Green Lantern movie. Is that movie being completely disowned and shunned by DC?

Not saying an actor can't portray two roles in that universe, but it is a bit strange.

The 2011 Green Lantern movie is not part of the current universe. The DCEU began in 2013 with Man of Steel.

I guess that last line says it all. It just boggles the mind sometimes.

An unknown character with a silly premise, starring Zach Levi, who as far as I know hasn't been the lead actor in a live action film before.

vs

An ensemble sequel that made a lot of money and has Margot Robbie and Will Smith. Let's add the Rock.

Which one could use extra star power, again...?
