I'm looking forward to that movie more than any movie in a LOOOONG time! Those two guys are nuts and hysterical together.

This is a bold statement, but man if we're getting anything close to that I'm gonna be stoked.

Reshoots start in late May.

Have you heard what the reshoots constitute? Are they completely redoing the story?

They will be done around the recasting.

From what I've read, it was the action that was either flawed or lacking in early cuts. So unlike most reshoots, where it's just random, non-action shots/dialogue here and there to fill in gaps, they've apparently written multiple new action sequences. That's the rumor, at a least.

Gotcha... trying to see if my guy Seth Rollins is still in the movie or got cut which is what the internet rumors are saying

Finally watched Spiderman: No Way Home

Man, it hit me in the feels seeing Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spidey's getting a reappearance(kudos) in the franchise.

BTW: I've always liked Garfields performance as Spiderman.

It does kinda make his movies a little more coherent to think of them as multiverse versions of the other spider man movies. I didn't like them at all when they came out and now I find them worthwhile.

Also wanted to say that Willem Dafoe acted his ass off in this movie. Mega props deserved IMO

For me the best part of no way home was when Garfield redeemed himself saving MJ in this movie….holy crap the emotion from that moment hit me like a sack of potatoes and Andrew Garfield is a hell of an actor

I dare say Garfield became my favorite Spider-Man after No Way Home. He was awesome.

I've said it before, but Garfield is the best Spiderman, with Holland being the best Peter Parker. Maguire had the best villains.

It's been five years since Endgame. If we got dusted in April 2019, we'd be coming back now.

Crazy part is it feels like it's been 10.

I was literally about to say there's no way that was five years ago.

Still feels like just yesterday to me.

I've blocked out so much of the pandemic that it feels like we went straight from 2019 to 2022.

I kinda feel the exact opposite.

It's weird, 2020 to 2021 felt a blink of an eye, but since then, it feels like it's been forever. Probably cause there's been so many big events crammed into a short period of time. The world shutting down and slowly reopening, the vaccine, the movie industry almost dying, two strikes...hell, the 2020 election and nearly all of Biden's first (and likely only) term has come and gone in that time. I dunno, it just feels like a decade's worth of stuff to me.

There's a whole generation growing up right now who's first two years of school was done on Zoom. That's wacky.

I bumped into a former classmate that runs a tutoring business. We talked pandemic and learning for students. She says it's going to take a while to catch up on all that wasn't properly taught or absorbed during so much remote learning. She still sees the effects every day.

Yeah, I hear you.

Another weird/depressing angle to think about is that, if today is five years later, the terrible phase four is only just beginning in their universe. At least in our timeline we're finally on the verge of hopefully getting content that actually moves the needle/moves the MCU forward in a fun, interesting way.

5 years and not a single can't miss Marvel property in that period.

So much wasted potential and momentum.

No Way Home. But other than that yeah.

No Way Home is probably my favorite Spider-Man movie of all time. I also thought Dr. Strange 2 was really good. Not 10 good, but besides No Way Home, the only phase 4/5 movie I would put in the top half.

I'll watch 1 or 2 anytime they are on tv, but don't feel any need to see 3 again. No Way Home was good and Shang Chi was ok. WandaVision and Loki were fun. Other than that, just a big waste of time.

I know COVID messed up some somethings, but it is extremely disappointing they weren't going to try to start connections between any of the new properties. I think people would have been willing to give some of these new properties a chance if they had teased some new villain and an over-arching mystery for the fans to try to solve.

Shang-Chi was a very solid movie or an introduction to a new property. Rewatched it the other day and there is some awesome things they did in that movie. They could have easily started a tie into Eternals or set up some new villain, especially since they had Wong, Bruce, and Danvers in one of the credit scenes discussing the Ten Rings.

Marvel botched phase 4 in a big way.

I think this hits a lot of it, there was no attempt to really build something in this phase.

We had several really solid characters but no efforts to tie them together, connect them to a bigger arc, etc. It felt like a bunch of disconnected stories, the exact opposite of the lead in to Infinity War/Endgame.

If all the multiverse tangental stories were an attempt at that...it didn't work.
rhutton125

I've always felt like they didn't yet have an idea for where the ten rings came from. That post-credits was so lazy and vague. "Huh I dunno, welcome to the Avengers!" (Hasn't been seen since)

Still no clue when he'll show up again, since Shang-Chi the comics character doesn't really have a ton of history with other characters. But we'll see!

Honestly I thought Eternals was starting/trying to set up the Celestials as the next Big Bad, but then nothing came of it. No follow up or anything

Breakdown of the CinemaCon Brave New World footage from New Rockstars, couple interesting observations in here. Sounds like they're setting up Ross to be a main character.

I have yet to finish Eternals or Black Widow. And I love David Harbour, but the movie's timing will never cease to be bizarre.

This is a good thing IMO. The physical scale of the Celestials just makes it to abstract for me.

Is it bad I have zero memory of whatever scene you're referencing? Was this in Eternals or BW?
