Wiki says she was introduced in 1999 but I didn't see her in anything until New Avengers in 2005ish.

Unless you read Daredevil during that time, you wouldn't.

Such a waste of money spending it on a character that no one knows and no one asked for. And to waste Kingpin on this to boot.

Kingpin will be in the next two seasons of the Daredevil show and is, by all accounts, a villain in the fourth Holland Spider-Man movie as well. I would hardly call him appearing in this a "waste."

I finally finished up the second season of What if? It was enjoyable, but some of the novelty of the first season was worn off for me. Christmas episode, Detective Gamora, and Iron Man on Saccar (sp?) were highlights for me. Agree with others who said there was too much Peggy in this season. We already got a lot of her in the first season and this one just felt like the Peggy show. She's a great character, but I wanted a more diverse set of experiences from this season I guess.

Fun watch all in all.

I hope they give Kingpin some appearances where he wins so he can continue to be a formidable opponent.

Like have the heroes think they've won the day and stopped the plot, only to learn they stopped the diversion, kingpin was 10 steps ahead, and he just made a ton of money, obtained some secret technology, or won a mayoral election over here while the heroes were distracted over there.
Thanks and gig'em

Just finished the first episode, and this about sums up my thoughts. If any of you were on the fence about watching it, go ahead and give it a shot.

In case any of you forgot, they dropped all of the episodes (5) tonight.

Just watched Episode 1 of Echo and thought it was really good. Some catching up the audience of course but the commitment to using so much sign language and the backdrop of the Choctaw are really cool differentiators. And who doesn't want more of Kingpin and Daredevil as a bonus?

Action sequences so far are really upper tier MCU at least on the TV front. They've phoned a lot of those in on other series but Maya has a lot of really believable physicality and grit.

Almost finished with it

What I like -
Fisk and this show is definitely darker than any other Disney series before. I am shocked with all the killing and blood in a good way. First 4 episodes are pretty good and any scene with Fisk is just good. The sense of fear he creates is just the same as ever.

What I don't like-
All the supernatural heritage stuff. I got to the climax in the last episode and just started laughing out loud at it and turned it off. I'll finish it eventually but I know Texags is going to rage against the girl power moment. That doesn't matter as much to me as how the powers just cheapened the struggle and felt really cheesy. You take a character who has trained her whole life and is a believable bad ass and when you use a new power to just completely take over the last fight it's lazy unfulfilling writing.

I do really hope Disney continues this tone though and gives some darker marvel content like Daredevil used to.

First 4 episodes are solid. Last one bleh. I actually think the overall plot is fine, but just a meh finish.

So it looks like Fantastic Four probably won't make its May 2, 2025 date. I also have it on good authority that Thunderbolts is likely going to move from its July 25, 2025 date (due to no fault of Marvel, rather I was told that a big, unnamed (by me) blockbuster is about to claim the first week August 2025, thus forcing Thunderbolts' hand - a move Marvel doesn't even know about yet). So, once again, it looks like the MCU may very well be playing musical chairs for the umpteenth time in the post-Endgame era.

Currently, this is their 2025 slate...

Captain America: Brave New World
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14513804/
February 14, 2025

Fantastic Four
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10676052/
May 2, 2025

Thunderbolts
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt20969586/
July 25, 2025

Blade
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10671440/
November 7, 2025

... but at this point I seriously doubt all four of those release next year, with Captain America: Brave New World being the only 2025 lock among the bunch.

What a sh*t show.

Marvel has reserved February 13, 2026 for an unnamed project, and Blade would actually fit perfectly there. It's the same weekend Black Panther released - during Black History Month, on NBA All-Star Weekend - which was obviously a massive success. So perhaps Blade goes there.

Then, working backwards, maybe Captain America: Brave New World moves from February 14, 2025 to May 2025, and Thunderbolts moves from July 25, 2025 to November 7, 2025.

That would of course leave Fantastic Four without a 2025 date, and February '26 feels too "small" for such a big release. So maybe it moves to May 2026, bumping the fifth Avengers?

And an X-Men movie has to wait until after all of this? Are they really going to wait until 2027/28 for an X-Men movie?

I'm getting ready for it but I definitely wasn't ready for X-Men in ~2019 when the acquisition happened. Dark Phoenix wasn't even out yet. It needed time to rest, and you know you'll get casting announcements a year or more in advance.

Put a nice distance between it and the Fox universe, IMO. But I'm getting ready. I'm ready to do some of these characters right - specifically Rogue, Gambit, Iceman, Angel, Colossus… etc

Don't forget...

While I enjoy Hugh Jackman in the role and Logan is one of my favorite comic films of all time, they missed a lot and he's at least half a foot too tall.

Yeah Wolverine is overdone - especially when he's just unkillable and has history with everyone and is a weeby samurai and he's going toe to toe with literal gods - but then I read or see something where he's small and scrappy again and I remember why he's great.

If Psylocke and Magik's characters are portrayed accurately, I foresee a significant rise in their mainstream popularity.

Aren't the slower releases what folks were hoping for with the expectation of a more cohesive story or at least….a BETTER story?

No doubt. It's just that Fantastic Four was officially announced in 2019, and now there's a very real chance - after a ridiculous amount of delays - that we don't see it until 2026. Put simply, there's a difference between taking your time to get it right and incompetence, with everyone and their dog rumored to have passed on less-than-stellar iterations of the script over the years.

You're not wrong, there were issues with that film but she had a lot of potential. Also an actress that totally makes sense to bring into the "actual" MCU.

I've never really been into F4 myself, for that very reason. But will give the movie a shot if/when it ever sees the light of day.

Yup. That makes sense.

You got any faith that it'll be good? I'm going to assume it'll be better than any of the 3 F4 movies we've already gotten….but that doesn't mean it'll be good….
TCTTS

I definitely think it'll be the best F4 movie to date (which, yeah, isn't saying much), I like the cast, and there continue to be rumors of a 1960s/alternate universe setting (with them getting pulled into our present day universe by film's end), which could be really cool and unique. I'll say that, despite all the setbacks, I'm cautiously optimistic.

It's hard to come up with an end fight where ou need a stretchy guy, a strong guy, a fire guy and an invisible person.

They've done it a trillion times in the comics - just gotta come up with something better than "use all our powers at once" for the finale.

If you have to use all the powers at once, the only logical conclusion is to then turn into Voltron.

I can't get there either. It seems to me that if you can't get it done after three times then the writing is on the wall. They are boring. On top of that, The Thing is a low powered Hulk so how do you even make him interesting when everyone is used to The Hulk?

OR....4D chess here.....

They de-powered Hulk over the last few films to prep viewers for The Thing.

I think I will start my own site.

Rumors have him showing up for one of, if not both of, the next two Avengers movies. Basically, if they've been in a Marvel movie at some point in the past 24 years, they're likely going to appear in some form or fashion in either Deadpool 3 or Avengers 5/6.
