I’m just gonna say this about Jonathan Majors and be done with it: folks at Yale and the broader NYC community have known about him for years. He’s a sociopath and abuser and that is how virtually everyone speaks about him. It’s a shame it took this long for him to be reported.

I mean, he was charged with strangulation and assault, and the woman had minor injuries to her head and neck. I have no idea about his past or whoever is clout chasing, but this seems like more than an awkward Sunday conversation.
I guess we'll see. Doesn't matter to me either way. If it's true he laid a hand a woman, punish him to the full extent of the law.

Yeah, I roll my eyes hard at these "we knew this for years" comments that come out after something like this happens. It's super easy to say, and you get the clout without anyone fact checking it.

In regards to the original story, I hope it's false because I like his acting. If it's true, I hope he's properly punished and promptly replaced in the MCU.
I doubt the account is gone. He also wasn't the only one make very similar claims.

I mean, one of the reasons why people stay silent is evident in this very thread. It's because there are a sh*t ton of BenFiasco's in the world, who mouth off before even reading the already-made-public facts, then either immediately start discounting the accuser, or even take the side of the abuser. Except most of them are way, way worse, and go so far as to start smearing/harassing the accuser on social media, Reddit and the like. I'm by no means pro-silence, but would you want to face the wrath of the more psychotic MCU fanboys? Would you want to risk litigation or even the abuser coming after you next? Not only that, but people are already making all kinds of jokes about it, and I'm just as guilty as anyone for immediately wondering aloud how this affects Majors' career/the MCU instead of expressing any kind of empathy for the victim. In other words, who on earth would want to come forward in this kind of environment, unless they had the bruises to show for it, and it happened in public, in front of someone else, who in this case is presumably the taxi driver.
In the #MeToo era it's become clear that staying silent was a very real thing - and still is in many cases - and the reasons why have everything to do with how the abused/accusers are treated when they do come forward. Sure, it's better now, but there are still plenty of instances like this.

Pretty wild that two major film franchises would place significant stake of their future on a guy with "known" domestic violence issues. Either they didn't do much due diligence or they found the rumors to be not credible or they just didn't care.
