Ok I've played the GOTG video game and was confused as hell so can you help me out on this one….spoiler tags for anyone who's planned on playing the game but hasn't yet….
I'm assuming the entire plot/characters took place in an alternate universe since in the game….
Drax has already killed Thanos…
Peter Quill looks different as done Gamora (slightly)….
Quills mother dies when he's a teenager from an invasion…
They've never heard of the Avengers…
So if that's the case help me understand Adam….cause how much of him from the game is actually accurate/cannon with the comic book character?
It's been a while since I played/beat the game but I do believe he had the soul stone in his forehead…and I remembered he spoke in riddles, or lymrics, or something like that….he played a "good guy" for a bit but then turned evil and can't remember why…
Overall if y'all are curious about the game it's definitely fun but I went in to it not knowing it was apparently a different "universe" and was scratching my head a lot thoughout until I caMe to that conclusion…..cause trust me there's a lot of other plot devices in this story that make zero sense with the MCU timeline we know….

yup. The interview where they discussed this scene stated the whole idea was the infinity stones when used together transported the person who "snapped" into the soul stone where they are basically forced to come to grips with their decision and the weight of it….the deleted scene showed Tony speaking with his daughter and saying I love you 3000 one more time….TXAG 05 said:Brian Earl Spilner said:

The deleted it cause they thought that scene combined with the funeral would've been too much and creeping into the same problems with The Return of the King: LotR ending….
Adam has an evil/Dr Jekyll side (Magus?), and does typically have the soul stone in his forehead.
Damn that would've been great to see.
It's not an MCU game. It's an original take.
Comics Adam Warlock has (or had) the soul stone in his head. I think he tries to be a purely "good" being, but therefore has a purely "bad" alter ego named Magus who might take over from time to time or something like that. Might depend on the iteration.
I don't know if we'll be getting Magus in the future but that is one potential cosmic big bad. I remember one cosmic arc where Warlock became corrupted and Quill had to put him down, but eventually he realized this was all a mind trick and that he was still out there somewhere.
It seems like GotG3 will be primarily focused on the High Evolutionary and Rocket so I don't know how Adam Warlock will tie in. But I could see the seeds of a future GotG team being set up, with Warlock and whoever survives this one, and maybe Stallone or some of those OG Guardians from the 60s. Or maybe they'll all be out there and a few years from now, Nova or someone will bring them back together.

Can't he create illusions and things like that? In the game there's a segment where Draxs mind is overtaken because he misses his wife and daughter so much he decides to live inside this alternate world Magus created
I always wanted a take where when frodo is recovering and everyone comes in the door, it opens again and Saruman and the Witch King come in to laud Frodo on his full recovery.
