Exactly. Thanos killed the 2019 version of Gamora. But the 2014 version came through the portal with the 2014 Thanos and his army in the climactic battle of Endgame. Somehow, she wasn't dusted by Stark when he snapped Thanos's army away (probably b/c she joined the Avengers' forces but how that works I don't know. I just go with it) and she left on her own to figure out her place in the universe, since this version didn't really know the GotG.

Yes, the "original" version of Gamora died. Killed by Thanos. But in Endgame, when our heroes traveled back to 2014, they encountered a version of Gamora who was obviously still alive, and eventually time travelled with 2014 Thanos to 2023, where they faced off against the Avengers & co in the climax. Now, the 2014 version of Gamora is still alive in 2023/the events of GOTG3. However, she had never met Peter, since 2014 Gamora was pre the first GOTG. So when Peter tried to talk to her in the Endgame climax, she kneed him in the nuts and presumably ran off after the battle. Then, the last thing we saw Peter doing, at the very end of Endgame, was run a location search on his ship, in attempt to find 2014 Gamora's whereabouts. Based on this trailer, they obviously find her, and I'm sure Peter will attempt to get her to fall in love with him all over again.

My assumption of that animal-faced opening is counter-earth, created by the High Evolutionary, who is played by the actor from Peacemaker. He tends to create animal-human hybrids and was likely the creator of Rocket. Maybe some kind of knockoff earth habitat for his creations.

I'm not ready for Rocket to die, I really hope that's some dramatic misdirection with that sad line at the end. Rocket or Quill, I think. Drax or Mantis I'm ok with, and Groot/Gamora we've already had once so I'd be ok.

The only thing left in the MCU I am actually excited for.

Great trailer, and so happy James Gunn is still at the helm. That ending clip had me laughing out loud and remembering how much I love this ragtag group.

I'm ready.

I can see Rocket sacrificing himself in a full circle sort of character evolution. Which will make for a very dusty theater.

Need to find the exact source, but New Rockstars talked about this as its been asked about and replied to by Gunn. "Collegiate Groot" as they called him is in the constant presence of two Celestials and sunlight causes plants to grow…so now he's swole

As I understood it, it is supposed to be a paradise that resolves a lot of Earth's problems, but got corrupted while it was being made.

Interesting that we have the High Evolutionary and Adam Warlock to begin with. I'm interested to see how they tie in with the rest of the MCU, and if Adam Warlock/High Evolutionary/Counter-Earth leads to our Fantastic Four intro.

I hope they have an explanation for why Tony Stark's snap didn't dust Gamora, since everyone else that arrived with Thanos dusted.

I guess we're just meant to accept that Tony specifically wished for her to be spared, someone he never met and was literally asking who Gamora was in IW?
TCTTS

I don't think Tony, like, named in his head every single person he wanted dusted. My guess is he just willed all the "bad guys" to get dusted, and because Gamora had basically switched sides by that point, wasn't considered "bad" anymore.

It's in the comics and also the animated Guardians series. Groot gets supersized a few times by celestial energy.

That is not at all a plot hole. Did Tony have to think about each individual enemy? Why are you assuming his thought was, "Kill everyone who arrived with Thanos"? It could have easily been, "Kill all enemy combatants".

The mere idea that he can even perform the snap is giving some kind of sentience either to the stones themselves, or to some being gifting the stones as a means of power. Whatever sentience, it must be some kind of omnipotent and omniscient sentience.

I bet there are some fantastically awful YouTube videos that are 3-10 hours long breaking down how precisely the Infinity Stones & Gauntlet work.

Agreed. Great jam. However I never understand what the hell he is saying.

"Be ought be all be allah you" huh?

I always Google it then I don't hear the song for a couple years, hear it again and can't understand him, so I Google it, rinse and repeat.

Apparently it's "We love the all, the all of you"

I hope there's at least a line that somewhat explains it. Cause if it's just a matter of good/bad then that's also pretty problematic. Who decides that? He didn't know she switched sides.
TCTTS
How long do you want to ignore this user?
AG
Yeah, but the stones created reality/existence itself. They're the tools of the gods. Like DallasTeleAg said, I'm assuming they have some form of sentience, and *they* knew that Gamora switched sides. Either way, Gamora not getting dusted has never bothered me in the least. In fact, I'd never even thought about it before today.

Let's take a moment to remind ourselves that Guardians was a D level comic no one aside from uber comic nerds had ever heard of, and had no business being a hit movie. But Marvel made it look easy.

The 2006-2010 cosmic stuff that gave us the Guardians is actually pretty sweet. Annihilation event, Nova, GotG, some good Inhumans stuff even. From what I recall they just handed the keys to that part of the universe to a few writers and they went ham.

B is incredibly generous for Iron Man.

B would be Aquaman, The Flash, etc.
