Using that same thinking, Nebula isn't really a good guy (gal?) either.

Who would question that? Nebula is the worst and has spent most of her arc trying to kill gamora.

not sure that's being questioned, but nebula is featured on the poster, so being a "good guy" isn't really a pre-requisite

of all the OG avengers, i think Thor dying would suck the most.

as a character, he gives you the most versatility going forward. you could continue stand-alone thor movies like ragnarok with valkyrie, korg, etc. you can use him as a team-up character and feature him on earth with dr. strange, ant-man, etc. or in space or some other planet with the guardians or captain marvel.

even if you want to give hemsworth a break, you could just have him try to settle a new Asgard and be more Odin-like, then pull him into a movie several years from now.

Oh, I just meant in terms of the people classified as dusted or fallen, at the bottom of the poster. If vision and Gamora are down there but not Loki, maybe that's just because Loki isn't one of the heroes.

So since time travel is a confirmed component of Endgame, will they toy with our emotions a few times with multiple attempts to undo the snap, with some that survived the first round get dusted in subsequent attempts before ultimate success? Like they keep trying to all survive until cap sacrifices himself to save the rest.

My bet is that the time travel element will have more of a "greatest hits" / Back to the Future Part II vibe. Almost like a retrospective, where they're revisiting key moments we've already seen. One rumor I saw was that they're going back in time to re-collect the stones for themselves to defeat Thanos that way. Though, I see some issues with that approach, so who knows. Either way, I doubt we relive the moment of the snap again. It sounds like it's going to be more extensive than that and potentially have more of a heist vibe to it, via multiple time jumps.

Korg was on the ship with Thor, Loki, and Banner at the beginning of Infinity War. Considering Thor was found floating in space after Thanos destroyed the ship I'm not super confident Korg made it.
