If you look at it post snap, and in the trailer as he's walking the field, his arm and gauntlet are visibly damaged

This.

If Tony was in the solar system, he could reach earth by radio in a matter of hours, and Thor could go get him.

Wow mever noticed smoldering gauntlet. I am positive that plays in to end game. However he still has all stones so who knows.

I basically think it means that whomever reverses the snap is going to die, bc the gauntlet is compromised and will probably fall to pieces.

Thanos did not retire to Titan at the end of IW. It was another planet.

We don't actually know this for certain... Thanos very well could be trapped inside the Soul Stone too; we don't know how it appears.

"For me, those are James (Gunn)'s films. Going into something like that with his stamp all over his films, would be like going into someone's house and saying 'Hey, I'm your new dad, and this is how we make peanut butter sandwiches now. It feels kind of awkward."
I mean...is it even possible to not read that in the character of this guy:

i love taika and i desperately want him to make another thor movie. mostly because i loved Ragnorok, but also because i feel like they're just now hitting their stride with thor as a character and i'd hate to think it won't continue.

his lack of interest in GOTG Vol. 3 is not a great sign either and just really frustrates me that disney reacted so quickly to that situation. if they'd just announced they were indefinitely suspending the project, they could brought him back by now. it's not like DC is getting killed for hiring him.

Loved "What We Do in the Shadows" and "Hunt for the Wilderpeople".

Why am I just now learning about "JoJo Rabbit"?

Agreed. I feel like they finally have Thor in a great place. I'd hate to see his character come to an close after Endgame.

I think the JG thing was a ridiculous overreaction, and really hope Guardians 3 doesn't suffer because of it.

I don't think it's a lack of interest so much as support for Gunn. He, Chris Miller, and Edgar Wright have gotten into (pretty entertaining) Twitter conversations about it.

If I were a betting man, I'd put money on Thor surviving Endgame and sticking around for a few more films.

Reasons:
1) He's at his most popular. Ragnarok had strong reviews and made a lot of money, and many people thought Thor was one of the best parts of Infinity War. His Wakanda arrival is maybe the most cited highlight of the film. Simply put, his stock has never been higher as a character.
2) Chris Hemsworth has always sounded willing to do more films, but he has also raved about working with Taika and how freeing this new take on the character has been. He's also becoming a name actor, starring in a Men In Black reboot and almost returning for Star Trek 4.
3) It's highly likely that Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. step away from the films. Potentially, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner could as well. It'd make sense to keep another OG Avenger (along with Scarlett Johannson) to transition into the new era.

I could be wrong, of course, but people now seem to want a Thor 4 more than an Iron Man 4 or maybe even a Cap 4. I think Marvel has a lot of compelling reasons to lock Chris Hemsworth into another contract - even if it's just 3 films or so.

You're not wrong. Cap has been done to perfection across 3 solo movies; I will be shocked if Cap survives Endgame. Iron Man has mellowed some over the years (note he is a bit less sarcastic these days than he was through the first Avengers movie). His first movie was sheer greatness, but the second two were not nearly as good. I'd be okay with another solo IM but really think that Thor is on such a high note currently, with Ragnorak and IW, that Thor is the obvious choice here.

I'll pose the question in a different way.

What great Marvel villains are remaining and which characters are they tied to?

But off the top of my head, Kang is the biggest villain they could tie into the Avengers but that brings in time travel which makes everything just a royal pain in the ass.

Except that it appears that time travel will be a part of Endgame, so already in the equation.

How do you figure that? Thor asked him "what did you do?" Then Thanos teleported away. He was clearly not in the soul stone

It's my opinion that everyone who dusted just got trapped in the Soul Stone and that Endgame won't require time travel, but rather freeing them from the Soul Stone and trapping Thanos inside it.

I'll take a stab at this!

The best part of the Fox acquisition, potentially, is the access to new villains. Batman and Spider-Man are the gold standard for rogues galleries, but I'd put the X-Men and Fantastic Four at the next tier. The Avengers don't really have a great selection of villains, but they do get to pull from their characters' galleries from time to time, which helps.

Here are a few that Marvel seemingly already has access to:
- Kang the Conqueror (Avengers, Fantastic Four)
- Taskmaster (Avengers)
- Masters of Evil (Avengers - they're a group of villains, usually led by Zemo)
- Thunderbolts (the Masters of Evil, masquerading as a new group of heroes)
- Frightful Four (Fantastic Four)
- Leader (Hulk)
- MODOK (Captain America, Iron Man)
- Enchantress (Thor)
- the Badoon (Guardians of the Galaxy)
- Baron Mordo (Doctor Strange)

Villains the MCU will gain from Fox:
- Doctor Doom (Fantastic Four, but he's got history with Iron Man, Captain America, etc.)
- Magneto (X-Men, but he has the occasional brush with others)
- Galactus (Fantastic Four)
- Sabretooth (X-Men / Wolverine)
- Apocalypse (X-Men)
- Mister Sinister (X-Men)
- Namor the Sub-Mariner** (Fantastic Four, Captain America, Black Panther. He's a true anti-hero, in that he's an ally probably half the time and an antagonist for the other half. Unfortunately, DC beat Marvel to the punch with Aquaman, so we probably won't see him for a while)
- Super Skrull (Fantastic Four)
- Annihilus (Fantastic Four, Guardians of the Galaxy)
- Omega Red (X-Men)
- Juggernaut (X-Men)
- The Shi'ar (X-Men, Avengers)

**Namor isn't technically a Fox acquisition, as his rights are in a mysterious grey area, but he's a frequent associate/villain of the Fantastic Four

Villains the MCU sort-of-maybe-doesn't have access to, because they remain with Sony. All Spider-Man related:
- Mysterio (coming soon in Far From Home)
- Kraven the Hunter
- Chameleon
- Beetle
- Scorpion
- Black Cat
- Sinister Six in general, whatever lineup that looks like
- Ones we've seen before... Green Goblin, Dr. Octopus, Electro, Lizard, Sandman, Venom, Rhino

For Phase 4, Marvel really has some good options. You could go political/"grounded" with Doctor Doom, Magneto, MODOK, Masters of Evil, Thunderbolts, Namor, Omega Red. You could go galactic, with Galactus, Annihilus (for a Guardians / Fantastic Four team-up, potentially), the Shi'Ar, the Kree, the Skrulls, Super Skrull, etc. And then there are plenty of smaller villains to drop in or use for solo films, like Taskmaster, Sabretooth, Enchantress, Frightful Four, or any of the Spider-Man villains.

He may not be trapped inside the soul stone like Gamora and others, but he did go inside it.

IIRC, he went to see Gamora right after The Snap, and then came back to reality when he looked at Thor/teleported.

Nerd question - when Thanos uses the Space Stone to teleport...instantaneous or is there some delay based on distance?

Follow up question - how do I get one of these stones? My commute is killer.
