Only problem with that is Ironman is shown on a planet that isn't earth.

Might be Nova.
Are you talking about the yellow-ish background in the opening shot? I'm not sure that isn't earth. He's wearing the same hoodie thing as he is in the shots with Dr. Strange.

On another note: In the shot of Falcon flying over the battle in Wakanda we can see the Hulk Buster armor. Since we also see Banner standing next to the arm, I wonder if he's the one inside the armor. Currently no shots of Tony in Wakanda. I know we see Hulk running with the rest at the end of the trailer, but it looks like a different point in time (trees in the back ground vs. plains).

Or it's Banner inside the armor. because he doesn't want to turn back into Hulk (consistent with Thor: Ragnarok where he's afraid he won't be able to turn back). And then at the end he has no choice, perhaps.

James Gunn broke the mold in the MCU actually killing killing Yondu. He stated this a lot about how he is dead gone never coming back and wanted it to mean something.

It was one of the best parts of GOTG2. I think Feige and the Russo brothers will take note.

That's just until the TV series "Ravagers of Contraxia" gets greenlit.

Joss Whedon killed coulson and quicksilver before yondu and said basically the same thing about there needing to be sacrifice in order to mean something.

My daughter (13) has been getting into the movies now that she's old enough to watch them. She LOVES GOTG and really likes the few other marvel movies she's seen.

Just saw Spiderman with her tonight, she liked it. After she was asking if Spider Man would join the Avengers so I fired up the Infinity War trailer. She absolutely lost her stuff when the Guardians showed up at the end. Good times!

For what it's worth, Coulson came back in Agents of Shield, and Quicksilver didn't have the back story that Yondu did. Yondu's death has been the most impactful in the MCU.

and the movies have completely ignored the shows. As far as the movies go, Coulson is dead. I enjoy watching SHIELD, but the stakes the last couple of seasons have been far too great for them exist concurrently (and go unnoticed) in the MCU (inhuman outbreak, Hive and the Framework).

They do exist concurrently, like it or not. In truth, except for MAYBE the Inhuman outbreak, the other stuff is kinda below Avenger notice. Even the Inhumans are pretty small scale.

I feel the same way. They can call it the same universe all they want, but until there is real connections from the movie side then I cannot feel differently.

Was thinking about the tesseract this weekend. In the trailer, we see Loki holding it, usually it is handled with tools or gloves of some sort.

I may be mistaken, but in Capt 1, the Red Skull takes it from a village, and either had gloves on or used something to lift it. At the end of Capt 1, he picks it up ungloved and is teleported away. At the end, Howard stark retrieves it from the ocean with a robotic arm.

In the Avengers, Fury quickly grabs it with a gloved hand and places it in a box. When Thor and Loki use it at the end to return to Asgard, it is in a tube with handles.

Yeah, I agree plus the way this season has started.... if no avenger help, they're dumb or dead prior to these events.

worldwide outbreak of powered individuals is small-scale? Portal to another planet where a inhuman capable of devouring all life on our planet is small-scale? LMD more intelligent than Ultron and capable of harnessing dark magic from the Darkhold?

The are all very high profile threats, that while not worthy of the full avengers ensemble, would probably be best dealt with by a couple of them. The existence of the Darkhold would warrant intervention from Dr Strange.

So evidently the Fox and Disney talks aren't dead...

https://www.theverge.com/2017/12/2/16728318/disney-21st-century-fox-acquisition

So Phase 4 could still involve both the X-Men and Fantastic Four...

I'll bet Marvel is just salivating at the possibility...

Dangerous, yes, but not that widespread. There weren't that many superhumans created as Inhumans, despite the worldwide exposure. Everything with the Darkhold was contained among a very small number of people and entirely within the covert side of SHIELD.

I get that they could have called in Stark to help deal with the Framework or Strange with the Darkhold, but that's the same as questioning why Stark didn't summon the Avengers to deal with Mandarin. Suspending that disbelief and letting things run in their own silo a bit makes for better narratives. These shows and movies would be boring if it was just pulling all the Avengers together to deal with every threat.

I'd empty out my bank account for a Defenders movie crossover, but I think even those are increasingly in their own universe. I don't mind some mental gymnastics to consider them all in one MCU but I think it's increasingly split. Less obligatory movie references and such. Punisher has very few Easter eggs. That kind of thing.

Fantastic Four, in the hands of Marvel, could be pretty awesome.

I can already imagine them going for a Guardians vibe.

Who would you cast?

Will Poulter comes to mind for Human Torch. He was pretty funny in We're The Millers and just has that "Marvel" vibe for me.

I'm calling it now: that scene is a Loki trick. He is handing it over to Thanos aboard their ship from Ragnarok. But, Loki (and the Tesseract) are actually with Thor trying to get the Asgardians to safety. Then, Loki and Thor take on Thanos to buy time for them to escape. Thor is beaten to a pulp and Loki....well, I don't think he survives and Thanos ends up with the first stone.

Charlie Cox said his contract (and probably the rest of The Defenders have the same thing) requires him to appear in the MCU if requested to do so. It doesn't mean they ever would, just that Marvel made sure they could if needed.

I can just see it now:

Thor: Tony, where is Steve?

Tony Stark: Captain America is dead.

Dr. Strange: And Vision?

Bruce Banner: Also dead.

Black Panther: Thanos is a force unlike any we have ever seen. He has defeated our greatest warriors... what can we possibly do against him?

Tony Stark: We do what we should've done a long time ago...

Peter Parker: What's that?!

Tony: Gentlemen... get me Iron Fist

I need more of a bro, party, slightly angst vibe. Like that guy that was the main character in Not Another Teen Movie. I think he'd do a really good job as a superhero.

This dude

Tony would kill him after the second saying of "I am immortal Iron Fist, Protector of Kunlun."

I really think that my favorite part of the entire trailer is when Thanos just casually pops the infinity stone onto his gauntlet. After seeing its power in GotG1, to see him just pick it up like a pebble really sets the stage.

The one we see him pop in is blue (so it's the Tesseract). The purple one (power stone) was already in the gauntlet. What I'm confused about is what all the MCU stones do. I'm not quite sure what the Aether does vs the Power stone.

Oh, and mind blown.

If there is any accuracy to this, then the H could be Helmdall.

Yes, though this theory came out before Dr strange. Some say it still technically works if you substitute "necklace", but that breaks the continuity of using the actual names of the other stones.

I bet they use the tessseract to send banner back to warn earth. Thor and Loki stay behind to fight and lose. Guardians are hot in thanos' trail after Nova Corps falls, and pick up Thor in short order.
