Movies are meant to be entertaining. If you want to dig into anything, eventually you can find flaws. I simply choose to watch whatever the filmmakers present me with and take it at face value, and hopefully derive some level of entertainment from that.
I am posting this again so it gets more views and hopefully starts a discussion.

Gunn has said no infinity stones or Thanos appearances in this one, so my guess is Thor Ragnarok and Hela for the soul stone.

I know there isn't as much enthusiasm for The Inhumans, but I am very excited to see Ken Leung as Karnak. Karnak just had a great series end (only 6 issues) and has one of my favorite skill sets (he can see the flaw in anything/anyone).

I thought it was odd that the article didn't mention his role in Last Stand, given he's been cast in a Marvel series. When I saw his face, I pictured spikes coming out of it. I had to go search to see if that was from Agents of SHEILD or one of the X-Men movies.TajMaballer said:

I was about to say - if this show has pacing issues, it will feel right at home with the first 5 episodes of Luke Cage. That said, I was hoping that the action would at least be Daredevil-quality. The fights in Luke Cage were pretty mediocre.
Guess we'll see. I don't watch Kung Fu movies for the plot, but if it has **** fights then you've failed at your only job.

Look, Iron Fist may not be good. But it won't be the first time the Netflix shows have stumbled:
Luke Cage completely imploded once Cottonmouth died. I mean, it almost ruined the damn good show it was up until then. Maybe that actor winning an Oscar last week is an indication of why the show was so good up until he was gone.
Daredevil season 2: I barely even remember Daredevil in season 2. All I remember is how bad ass Jon Beranthal was as the Punisher. Something about The Hand and Elektra? I don't know....the Punisher killed a bunch of guys in prison and it was awesome.
Jessica Jones? Sure, it was fantastic (best Netflix show yet), but the Trish Walker subplot was plodding and unnecessary. It reminded me of those ridiculous subplots crammed into every season of "24."
I will watch and see for myself. If the script is bad or the actor is not good, then that's disappointing. But, I could give a flying *****about this "whitewashing" bullsh*t. In the comics, Danny Rand is white. Not really sorry if that is offensive in this current culture.

I know some on here did, and to each his own. I just thought the majority of the acting was bad (Misty Knight was cringeworthy), the writing was mediocre and got worse as the season progressed, the main villian (not the club owner who died halfway through, the other one) was laughably cheesy, and the fights were a let down from what I was expecting out of a show based on Luke Cage.
Disappointed, but I will definitely give it a shot. These reviews are for the first 6 episodes. For reference, Luke Cage got stellar reviews for the first 7 and not as many people enjoyed that series. I enjoyed it more than others, but can see the complaints. I think what we see after Defenders is a combo show Luke Cage and Iron Fist doing Hero for Hire which would probably benefit both characters. Those two characters are more entertaining when they are playing off each other.

From the beginning, I wanted a Heroes for Hire series more than I wanted a Defenders series.
And not a series with one overall plotline. No, I want them to be taking on minor supervillains every episode. Can't Marvel do just one of those "villain of the week" style shows? Why does everything have to be one epic story?

What I've read of the current "Heroes for Hire" series has been a lot of fun, for anyone interested.
It sounds like Jones may not be able to pull off the fight choreography very convincingly, which blows. I guess with a mask and in the dark you can sub in a stunt double easily for Daredevil, but for Danny you have to hope this guy you've cast can deliver a crescent kick to the face and look cool at the same time.
Disappointing, but at least the Defenders showrunners did season 2 of Daredevil, so we know they can do fights well. But they might need a mask for Danny's stunt double just in case.

I'll watch it no matter what. I loved the seasons of Daredevil. Its become one of my favorite shows of all time. Jessica Jones and Luke Cage were both decent, but nothing special, but I feel like I have to watch these shows to better understand the Defenders.
