Also, what is it with having a ridiculously overwhelming number of single spaceships going after protagonists in movies, now? Star Trek Beyond did it, now GotG...I'm sure I'm forgetting others.

I knew who was playing his dad, and his dad was ego... that's like finding out Vader is Luke's dad, in a trailer before the movie... villain or not, it's kinda a. If reveal.... I mean that's kinda how the last movie ended on a cliffhanger and yando flew off, left you wanting to know who his dad was...

In this day and age, there's just no keeping a secret like that... might as well just get out in front with it to hype it more

Guess I'm in the minority, but if I didn't know anything about gotg and saw that it would be like whatttttty... but this is gotg VOL 2, they have a following established now after the success of the first movie... they don't need to put anything in the trailers other than the main characters... on a side note, all the characters named were in purple, and it looked like ooze... and Thanos is purple... even tho they say he isn't in the movie...

OK, that was officially too much. I feel like the audience that's going to see this movie didn't need a whole lot of convining. They already love this product after the first movie and don't need to be sold on it. Yet I feel like they've revealed more of this movie than they did the first one, when GotG was an unknown product and people actually needed convincing to get out to the theaters.

I hope I'm wrong and that there are a ton more funny moments and surprises in the movie than what I've seen in the large number of trailers to drop for this movie.

They never showed Shaw's full face, and never explicitly said who he was. They didn't hide it all that much, but it wasn't this easy for those who didn't know Winter Soldier's story.

Will watch it in a sec, but Gunn has said that Peter's dad isn't meant as a surprise reveal - it's just part of the plot. While it would have been cool not knowing, he did reveal it months ago because 1) it was inevitable, and 2) it's not really meant as a closely-guarded secret or anything.

Did people seriously not know that Kurt Russell was cast as Peter's dad?

I think the biggest mystery that Marvel has kept from us is: where is Stallone and who is he playing?

I wish every time Bradley Coopers name was mentioned it just said (as a raccoon) underneath.

Happens early in the movie, but the last thing in the trailers. Yeah, that's a cause of confusion.
