Fits much better with the ravengers calling him a jackass at the end.

Why? What are the Spartax?

Spartax is the home planet of the Spartoi. The Spartoi are an imperialistic alien species. They look just like humans. They aren't the worst alien race ever, but they are a dictatorship, and J'Son, Starlord's father in the comics, is pretty much an evil twat.

Still works fine for me.

Great movie.

Only complaint was Gammorra. Acting was poor and she seemed too scared a few times for someone that is supposed to be a super killing machine.

Here you go, in case you want to watch Baby Groot do his dance all day long, like I do.

I agree on the dance off part, lame part of a great movie

Seen it twice and I think the dance off was comic relief at the perfect time. A typical comic book movie would never have gone there, but the substitute scene would have been super cheesy and not relate with a generic audience. In this case, they went cheesy but in a way that could connect to a generic audience and keep it fresh. At that point they had basically used every tactic possible to try and kill Ronan. A basic diversion tactic would have been boring. Both times I saw it the theater was cracking up.

If we are nit picking I do agree about Gamora sometimes not seeming like a trained killer, but after her initial entrance, her only true fight scene was with nebula, who by all accounts could be just as dangerous, so it didn't bother me much.

Man, I'm listening to Awesome Mix, Volume 1.

I love this ****. I want to see the movie again right now.

I prefer to think of Gamora acting vulnerable as an act so that opponents underestimate her.

As fun as Guardians is, it's actually very important to the MCU as it's the first time Marvel has used the words "Infinity Stones" even though that's what everyone knew they were hinting at in the last 9 movies.

end of Thor 2, they refer to infinity stones when the bring the Aether to the collector.

I'm interested in how they Thanos will retrieve this infinity stone since it ends up in the hands of Nova. Also, the Tesaract is in Asgard.
_______

Also, would love to see Zoe and Scarlet tangle

_______

I've read both Guardians' threads, and no one has mentioned the "black light" comment. laughed my ass off at that one.

Agreed - I laughed the hardest and longest at that one.

I just saw it a second time yesterday, I don't think I've seen a movie twice in theaters for nearly 10 years.

One of the best parts for me was when Rocket was explaining to the group what they needed to break out of the prison and here you have Groot in the background going for the battery.

Also SPOILER from Winter Soldier:

Baron Von Strucker has a stone as well - the one in Loki's staff.

Well, Loki's staff hasn't been directly referred to as a gem, but people have been assuming that it's the Mind Gem. Of course it could just be something powered by the Tesseract like the Hydra weapons. There is even a line in The Avengers that implies that it is powered by the Tesseract "It cannot defend against itself".

It is a little uneven, but Loki had the staff and was using its powers before he had the cube.

It's been a few weeks since I re-watched it, but I thought when the collector opened the infinity stone and showed the other ones, it showed Loki's staff.
