Corny gets me every time. Vince is good and I laugh every single time he sings the "alone with my baby tonight" Jeff Jarrett song.
Just got around to watching Royal Rumble. Haven't watched wrestling a lot since the 90's, only here and there. The STWW and WHW podcasts got me back into it a little bit.
Positives:
-Loved the women's rumble, way more interesting than the men's. Women's wrestling has come a LONG way since the "diva" era. Some very good talent on display. Good to see some of the retired ones get in the ring again. Some genuine surprises. Banks/Asuka will be fun to follow down the road.
-AJ Styles is great. Like the setup of him vs Nakamura, will be fun. Clearly going after the Asian audience for Wrestlemania, but this is a genuinely great matchup.
-Rey Mysterio looked in great shape. Was mentioned by the commentators several times, but that was my first thought when I saw him come in.
Negatives:
Rousey's entrance was terrible. Not only did it subtract from Asuka's historic moment, they did it in the most boring way possible. If you're going to steal someone's thunder, don't fart it away.

Really the only match that makes sense storyline wise

They blew a chance for a great build Tuesday night. With Owens and Sammy trying to take out the competition for the FastLane bout with Styles ... Shane should have made a hard pivot. A tag-team battle of Corbin and Dolph against the Canadians ... the winners are in the match with Styles and the losers stay home. Given Shane's disdain for the Canadians, this would have made perfect sense (upping the ante. A loss taking them out of the title picture altogether).

Looks like WWE is going back to the single pay-per-view/month model after WrestleMania. Each show will feature both Raw and SmackDown.

This gauntlet match idea doesn't make a lot of sense to me...but damn...Rollins is incredible. The physical exertion he has put forth is pretty amazing.
That's what I thought at first. No reason for it but now I'm into it. A bit longer and it'll likely be better than Sundays main event

Agreed. They need to start building the show around him, Miz, and Braun...plus Roman since you know that won't change anyway
I feel like they've built Braun up to be too strong. It just seems too unbelievable for someone like Balor or Miz to beat him.
I think he's really good in the ring and seems like a pretty cool guy in real life (based on his Instagram feed).

If they don't send him to WM to beat Brock then he's completely neutered and not believable. It's one or the other at this point
