It fit in with the whole WCW vs. WWE theme. NWO is the big WCW faction from the 90s and DX is the big WWE faction from the 90s.

I didn't have a problem with nwo interfering for sting...when I think wcw, I think sting, flair, and nwo...the only other things I could see were Luger coming out or Big Show embracing his former "Giant" after winning the battle royal and coming out to help sting
