Hope O'Reilly goes to AEW. Not sure what's going on with Gargano. Wife is pregnant so a long break, or main roster move, or leaving?

Can someone explain NXT to me? Is it basically Triple A for WWE? Is it better to be a big-time person on NXT or a mid-carder on WWE? Does everyone from NXT want to get to WWE?

I tried to watch it once and thought it was pretty second-rate. But I did watch the War Games match and that was really entertaining.

Also I'll be at AEW next week in Dallas. Very pumped bay bay.

It was developmental. Then when they got their TV deal with USA it was supposed to be considered "equal" to Raw or Smackdown. After the AEW tv loss, Vince decided NXT should go back to be younger, developmental guys.

AFAIK it began as a new take on WWE developmental level, so a minor league of sorts. Triple H was the head of it. Every show other than ppv's were at the same place in Florida.

Ultimately the lack of wwe corporate bull**** and freedom of creativity allowed it to cultivate some of the hottest wwe stars of the last 5-6 years, only to see many of them go up to the main roster and be mismanaged, have their gimmick changed, or worse buried.

It grew to have a cult following and prior to AEW/modern poplar run of NJPW during the Kenny years it was the sanctuary for fans pissed off with wwe forcing Roman as a face and always having Brock squash.

When I paid attention to wwe/NXT (2016 - 2019?),NXT always had more creativity, big shows were more fun and their storylines meant something. They wouldn't be scrapped for no reason and pivoted to the next thing.

They made a major creative change I think in the last year and it doesn't have the same feel at all.

That's my 2 cents. But I only ever watched a pro wrestling event for the first time in 2016 so it was all new to me. Lifelong fans may see it differently.

I've heard WWE offered Jeff Hardy help and rehab, and it was not accepted. Here's to hoping things get better for him.

Back to the NXT/WWE thing...what was everyone's favorite 'bad move' by the company during that time?

I think mine was taking American Alpha, which was a great traditional tag team duo who had loads of athletic talent, let them have both the NXT/Smackdown titles at the same time, and within a year made Gable do a solo run and decided to have Jason Jordan move to Raw and become the illegitimate son of Kurt Angle.

So on the Jeff Hardy thing. Apparently he was let go after a live show. He was participating in a three-man tag match. Roman and the Usos against Hardy, McIntyre, and Xavier Woods.

He was in the ring, made a hot tag, and then inexplicably wandered over to the rail and jumped into the audience. Tried to leave the arena through the crowd in the middle of the match. Security ran after him. Just a bizarre situation.

I can't believe it's already been almost a full year since he passed. Time is moving way too fast. That was a very good and tough read.

I often think about what would be going on in AEW if Brodie was still alive. Like I imagine he and Bray would be reuniting in some way, shape, or form here in the coming weeks.

I just read the article and man was that tough. Got a lump in my throat and a little teary eye when she talked about when Jim got sick and then to the end. AEW has done a great job taking care of Amanda and her kids.
