If you're making kids cry because they feel their role model betrayed them, I think you're doing something right.

I kind of worked backwards. I didn't start watching until spring of 98, but my parents let me rent the WCW and WWF PPVs at Hastings to let me catch up.

The first match I saw, and it had me absolutely hooked, was one of the Booker T/Benoit best of 5 matches.

AFAIK, this was October 1988, so I was 12. I was so furious with the Road Warriors for their heel turn, I tore up a poster of them I had hanging on my wall.

And then they showed the single worst match I think I've ever seen. Some dentist lady (in horrid with names) that missed every single move. She even missed the setup and flow into her own finisher. As much crap as some of the wwe women get they are far ahead of where aew women appear to be now.

I watched the episodes you're talking about. The 8-man tag had some solid high-flying action, and the fans responded.

The woman's match was execrable. I've never seen a crowd more dead during a match, they just were not into it. Those women were terrible.

It really makes you appreciate what the women are doing in WWE.

Lance Hoyt is the new IWGP US Champion. Moxley vacated the title since he was unable to appear for a scheduled IWGP US Championship defense (Typhoon Hagibis). Hoyt has wrestled a few times here in BCS for Lion's Pride, so that's pretty cool.

Awesome!

Hoyt is originally from Hearne, so it is really cool getting to see him locally. Especially the time or two that he brought Davey Boy Jr. with him

Not really funny. They released draft pools for when each superstar was able to be picked. Everyone that was picked on Smackdown was in the Smackdown pool and everyone tonight is from the Raw pool. That's why neither Rollins or Lesnar were drafted on Friday.

Ok that makes sense. I missed Smackdown on Friday and just read the results so was surprise to see such big talent left off.. make sense.. who would want to watch RAW for a B-team draft

So what was the point of matches to determine picks? With raw getting 3 to smack downs 2 each round, raw was always going first.

Why not just have great matches without this wannabe WCW fubar bs?

The Viking Raiders strike me as the new Sheepherders. Crowds love a barbarian element, whether is the Sheepherders, the Road Warriors, or the Viking Raiders.

The crowd was absolutely loving the Raiders winning the tagteam belts again.

I bet they split up Roode and Dolph

The draft is stupid. Another reason WWE sucks.

The draft would be way more fun if they had a contest and selected 2 fans to make the picks. Without regard for booking or management wishes.

They could undo it in 6 months if it flops.

Maybe they could have some kind of wrestling trivia type challenge to confirm the folks doing the drafting have some level of understanding of the sport.
